Interesting article. It talks about wear on the left but the article is written for countries who ride on the right, In the UK we ride on the left so the excessive wear in on the right and not the left. Clear now :dribble:

I'm going to order up new tyres anyway, just not sure what model, probably Dunlop Roadsmarts and give them a go

Just mounted up a set of Dunlop RoadSmarts a couple hundred miles ago. I like this tire quite a bit so far.

Very neutral steering on this tire. It does not appear to have the blinding-fast transitions as the tires the RoadSmarts are replacing on the Dunlop lineup (the Dunlop D220.) The dry grip seems every bit as good as the D220, and the wet grip is noticeably better. So the only variable that is out on the tire now is the rear treadlife, which proved to be the Achillie's Heel of the D220 tire.

It could be a number of things:
- You have a dominant turn direction and it is more mental than you think. (Most people turn better one way than the other)

- With 4000 miles, you are a good bit through the tire life and it is worn so that turns need more input in general

- The above two items have combined to give more wear on one side versus the other and you truely DO need more input for turns in one direction.



- You have a VERY dominant hand/arm and the pull required feels less on that side.

- Your bike is not balanced/tracking in a perfectly vertical position and the distance to move the bike into a proper lean angle for one turns is greater than the other.

Just a few ideas of things to look at.

I've been off the bike for awhile and noticed this "resistance" in left hand turns. Realizing this I started lightening up on my left arm, problem solved.

Target fixation is the root cause for most bike accidents involving ditch hits, rock plasters and body slides.

Chill and look where you want to go.

How do they it compare to your previous sampling of tires?
