Miss you, Andrew, and am always riding by stuff that reminds me of riding with you.

Three years ago, today, we had a dual sport ride planned on the north side of the north fork of the American River. Andrew was the catalyst most responsible for a few of us NorCal riders buying dual sports -- always the motorcyclist whose enthusiasm was infectious. He and I had done a DS ride 13 days earlier on the south side of the north fork -- which turned out to be the last time I ever rode with him.

As it turned out, Andrew couldn't make our ride on his birthday because he was taking his daughter off to college via airplane. So Bluestreek, madmike2 and I rode 3 KLRs without his Suzuki. Mike crashed that day. And a week later, it was Andrew to whom I delivered Mike's EMT modified Motoport suit, which he packed and returned to Motoport for repair. Typical of Andrew to be helping another rider out.

Happy birthday, OrangevaleFJR. I sure wish you were here celebrating it with us.

Andrew was going to bring home-made salsa to the FJR campout at KJ's place. I was so looking forward to meeting the person that seemed so interesting to chat to on-line. He was, and is missed. Happy Birthday Andrew. Wish we could have met, during your all too brief life.

Me too.
I joined the forum Dec '08...barely "saw" him on the forum...I even stole his personal message for my profile

I was moved by the support of Andrew and his wife...didn't know him and wanted to help out as well

Then I was moved to search all his threads and enjoy his posts...even went back periodically to do that again

HBD dude...you certainly are missed

Mike

I miss you, friend.

As with exskibum, I don't pass a barn, a pretty sight or ride an interesting road that I don't think of you and remember the chit-chat we'd share as we rode along. The conversations on the trip to Park City (and the entire adventure) still lives strong in me and those who were along. Others will never know how incredibly difficult it is for me to ride Hwy 36 because your wit, energy and friendship haunt every turn and vista.

So many memories have made me a better person because you walked through my life (Something that can be said for all the NorCal group, I love you all.).

R.I.P. Andrew.

Andrew was a complex, complicated human.

His brilliance shown brightly, yet a dark side lurked.

Our conversation, late at night, drinking whiskey while sitting in a hot tub at the Hondarosa and watching satellites and stars go by opened my eyes to his dichotomy.

I too, very much miss Andrew.

...and sincerely hope that Tim is providing copious Jimmy Kicks whenever possible -

then riding the roads, however they maybe, in whatever time/space they may rise, as quickly and safely as possible.

:****:

Hugs n' Kisses Andrew

I read this thread this AM and had nothing...

Took the Zook DRZ400 out for 100 miles of fire roads and goat trails this afternoon and - I got cows!

Miss you bud.

One day late, here, but Happy B'Day, Andrew. I never see someone taking a photo from a moving motorcycle without thinking of you.
