I was told by the dealer that these bikes will be so rare that they would only get two of them and they are spoken for. He told me that none of the dealers would be negotiating any prices lower than list. Has anyone done better, is this complete ******** or is he telling it straight?? <_<

I would run like a m.....f..... from that dealer. Any dealer who would make that statement is a dealer I would make a point NOT to do business with. Contact D&H, Sunnyside, etc. They will get you one of these oh so "rare" bikes at a discount. Maybe your ******* dealer would like to buy yours from you then at a premium because of the "rarity" of the bike. ******** must have worked at the Harley shop in his past life.

:hockeycheck:

I'll see the 2006's when the Great American Motorcyle show comes around my neck of the woods this winter.

But I Love this '05 though and she's staying right where she is....under my a$$. ;)

Ask your dealer if they are a Factory Authorized Yamaha dealer. When they ask why, tell them there is a thing called a Priority Delivery Program and the number of people that put down deposits will determine how many they get.

The R1 LE, now that's a different story.

The more I think about it, the more I'm thinkin' about it.

Still have that gorgeous silver, but with all the '06 benefits.

Don't worry - you'll be able to get parts from the salvage yards from people that crashed them when they thought the bike would shift by itself.

I put my $500.00 down in July. They have said nothing at that would indicate I might not get one. They called me to let me know when the info was out on the 28th that I had a choice of two diffrent models. I am going for the Blue one. My sales guy is getting one too..(he has a 2005 right now that he brought in for me to look at when I was shopping..)

From what I understand I am the first one in the STL area that is on the list...but they still expect to fill orders they have right now..

I think many will shop around and haggle and end up somewhere in the $11,500-$12,000 dollar range. Some places are just advertising prices below MSRP with no haggling.

Do you mean that you put up $500.00 without an agreed upon final price?? :haha:

I'll haggle price before the actual sale...I trust the dealer (to some extent..lol)

As The guy I'm buying the bike from has been my Yamaha/Triumph/Ducati dealer for the last 26 years. I have purchaced several bikes from him and never felt "screwed"..

Any extra money I have will not find it's way to your pocket I am afraid , as the list of farkles is already increasing by the day..

I already have my first one:

I would find another dealer.

I called my local dealer and told them the best price I had found on the FJR1300AE was $13,200. If they matched it, I would come down and give them the $500 deposit.

They had the sales contract done by the time I got there - it was $14,100 out the door including almost $850 in sales tax.

I officially became a waiter this morning after talking to Tony who posted this:

Final out the door is around 12,800 or 12,900. I'm so buzzed with the thought of next spring that I can't remember the exact number. The dealership down the road from me was asking 12,600 + TTL for an 05 ABS that has been sitting there for about a month.

Cut and pasted from Other So-called site... from twister...

1. Best Price

D&HCycle in Cullman, AL pricing as of 9-29-2005 or if you are euro 29-9-2005

FJR1300A $11499

FJR1300AE $12999

Phone 888-553-3311

those were Pre-Tax... as I understood...

D&H does have good prices!

I guessed that their price on the FJR1300AE would be around $13,200 and quoted that to my local dealer - she immediately matched it and didn't charge a bunch of paper / setup fees like other dealers do (so she got the order and I don't have to spend any time / $$$ going to get it)!

Best Regards,

Shane
