I have an idea about eliminating handle bar vibration by sandwitch a thin piece of polyurathaine matirial between the bars and the plate they are mounted on. I was wandering if enyone has tryed it?

Have you tried grip puppies & heavier bar end weights yet?

I haven't heard of anybody. It seems like it would make the bars looser like a sloppy 70's twin and only mask vibration slightly...since you've still got a metal to metal connection with fasteners.

I think most try and reduce the vibration to begin with....with things like a TBS and many other things talked about many, many times.

Now, Matt....

Some of us don't buy the "TBS is the Cure for All Vibration Evils" philosophy.

Some of us prefer an Over-The-Counter product:

Whenever I feel numbness in a hand from vibration, I take the thumb from that hand, stick it in my anal orifice and wiggle my ears. Puts a smile on my face every time.

At first I thought it said, "the Cure for all Elvis." And I thought, "What the heck does this have to do with vibrations?" And then I posted this and thought, "Wow, that has pretty much nothing to do with numbness either."

Um, where were we?

Really?

What good can possibly come out of such a small box?
Big things...small packages????

And speaking of small packages, haven't heard from beemerdons today!

I have no vibration on my FJR that is objectionable. However, on singles and twins I have used grip puppies and other gripswith cushion. Rubber mounting of anything that has vibration is not a bad idea. I would probably actually use thin rubber rather than plastic. Maybe cut from a thin old innertube and cut so as not show too much around the edges. Tightened sufficiently there should be little to no discernible movement in the bar. On almost all bikes I purchase slightly larger gloves than needed and I use cotton gloves inside the leather. Adds warmth in cold, absorbs moisture and prevents blisters in the hot, and generally cushions the hand.

Now about that Man Up...... CC

Personally, I would not do anything to soften the connection between the bars and the top plate. Try softer grips, different gloves, weighted bar ends etc.
