hello, i just came back from a 6 day trip in the apalachians, NC, SC, VG, TN, GA. fantastic place to be. managed to get to ride the dragon several times, and smoked my front tire (had about 70% left on it) right off in 1600km (1000milesish) you guys from that area have it so lucky. to the point, i needed to haul my bike and a buddys on a single snowmobile trailer for 14hrs one way. i have done a similar trip year ago with my zx11 and a buddy HD FLMNOP or whatever its called to daytona. not wanting to scratch the crap out of the FJR I made up some fastening tubes that i secured to the frame/engine mounting area. worked flawlessly. i included some pics. the tubes have 2 holes in the outer ends for tie downs that i taped when i was ready to go so they wouldnt pop out. the other end of the pipe i welding a piece of flat stock, drilled a hole for the mounting bolt, needed a shim on either side to ensure that it rested flat on the frame, inserted a piece of inner tube to prevent scratches and that was it. not a single issue. also wrapped a tie down around the frok tubes to add stability as well as some tie downs to the rear.

take care

CORRECT ANSWER!! Trailering past the snow line is fully acceptable. ;)

Just made my move to Reno, hauled mine in a 6x12 u-haul checked on her half way there and thought

this is one thing I don't need worry about solid as a rock!

Got here and opened the trailer to find her on her right side!!

Did not look like she road that way for long, broke the right mirror and scratched the fairng and bag.

It was still snowing when I left and I thought I would add frame sliders after I got here.

O WELL.

Kevin
