In Canada we are forced to take a few months off every year. It comes back fast enough. Like the others said, take it easy your first day back out.

Cheers,

Be careful and extra alert; you'll be fine.

I just began riding again after a 9 year absence. Have to say I am being super cautious dealing with traffic around me. Every car and truck I encounter is potentially plotting to kill me.

So far so good. Done about 150 miles so far on vacation and I'll do about another 150 - 250 before I leave. I think what helped was driving around TX roads for a few days before getting on the bike. Getting aquainted with stupid drivers for the first few days while in a car.

Including one person stopping to a dead stop for NO reason on a 45 mph major main street without a shoulder, only to speed up and start going ahead again when I try to around them, and having someone head towards me on a two lane 45 mph one way road. I was going the right way, they didn't want to go ALL the way around the block and decided to take the wrong way shortcut to a street one block over, towards me. Nothing more interesting than you stopping on the road trying to figure out what the proper protocal is when a car comes towards you the wrong way on a one way road, and goes around you on the right, to make a right on the street behind you from what WOULD be the left lane, if it was the correct direction of travel.....

Sigh.

A picture with you cell phone or video if you have that option and give a copy to the cops.
