I think that his getting 3 years is great but I guess that I didn't realize that speeding could cost that much time. Must have been all kinds of other charges added on I'm sure. It is absolutely amazing that he did not wreck or hit someone. Maneuverabiltiy gets pretty hard at that speed.

It was the additional charges cuz typically, you can't get that much time for "only speeding". You get that much time for reckless driving, reckless endangering, suspended license, ******** in public, etc, etc....

I hope they took his bike, all his bikes, and any cars. He obviously can't stop doing this, since he has a "history." He's very fortunate to have not created an incident like the other thread where a guy ran into (and through) an SUV. At 160, there's NO WAY you can react to traffic conditions.

String him up, and let responsible riders (like us) have some shots at him.

Of course he didn't crash. The article said: "CBS 5 News learned that he has riding with a suspended license and has history of wreckless driving" (itals mine).

he can fry for all i care. IF your going to be an ******* at least do it where no one else is going to pay for your stpidity

+1. One of my favorite patients was a six year old boy, who was hit while walking to school. A school employee, driving a truck, was doing 90mph in the school zone. Diego and his brother were hit. The brother recovered fully after several months in the hospital but to this day, Diego is paralyzed from the neck down. He's still a cool kid. The ******* didn't take away his smarts or his personality, but this young man will pay daily for what that driver did.

Personally I think 3 years is excessive for speeding, when other (IMO) more serious crimes don't get even close to that. but any more is political

The story does not say if school was in, or any children were present (time of day or night), just he went through a school crosswalk

Englebeck then drove through a crosswalk near Whittier Elementary
Notice near not at

But it gets headlines.

I think a year would be more than enough to really fck up someones life for SPEEDING. ESP when no other damage occured. And I assume he lost a $6,000 bike in the process as well.

There are a lot of what if he..... that could be inserted, but he was speeding.

Let he/she without sin cast the first stone.

As has been said before (and by me on other threads) its HOW you react once the pretty blue lights go on.

He dsid he was heading for work ? The only thing he did not know was that his new job is for the state of AZ. as a prisoner making license plates or something like that.

This is a good place for him, now Bubba will see how fast he really is!!!!!!!! :yahoo:

Read it again - this happened during morning rush hour traffic so school was most likely starting with children, buses and people present.

"Let he/she without sin cast the first stone." - you ride 160 mph near schools very often?

Fry his lame ***...

I agree with frying him, but isn't school still out for summer vacation, or does Arizona have year-long schools?

The arrest was April 2nd. He's just now getting his three years. Judicial process takes a bit of time. You don't get arrested and sentenced on the same day any more, not even in Arizona!

No, my bike tops at 158.

Rush hour here you are LUCKY to get over 30 mph anyplace within 30 miles of downtown.

I didn't say he should walk. I said 3 years is excessive, ESP when you consider pushers get 6 mo to a year in most cases due to overcrowding making a revolving door.

again anything more gets political.
