Headlight Guards?

I'm looking for headlight guards for my 2008. Does anyone still make these?

I have never liked the look of the plastic headlight shields that attach with Velcro-like fasteners. I have found that the 3M film does a good job of protecting the lenses from small rocks and grit. It installs easily and doesn't really show at all. I am sure that this stuff doesn't offer sufficient protection for anything larger than fine gravel. If riding in an area with a lot of gravel roads, I would probably choose more robust protection.

I have the Velcro attached version and I finished a ride to find one had been cracked into 2 pieces by something heavy. I am sure it saved me $400 for a replacement headlight assembly. Found another set to replace the broken one on here and attached them. Would recommend them whole heartedly!

I had a similar experience. After a ride I noticed one of the Cee Bailey protectors was shattered into three pieces. I contacted Cee Bailey to see if the would sell me just one side. They said no, but they would give me a new set for free, including postage. Sad day when Cee Bailey got out of the motorcycle business.

Cee Bailey isn't the only name in town for light guards. I've had my bikes covered by a Ventura's light guard shortly after geting my first one back in '06. Granted it won't do much good in a head on at 50 mph, but it will keep the occasional stone from taking it out.

I had the Cee Baileys on my 08. Never really liked the look of them but they did the job. When I sold it the new owner got perfect headlight lenses. When I bought the 14 I decided not to run the lense protectors. Came by the big mine in Morenci, AZ last year and the wind was blowing gravel. Now I have pitted headlight lenses and bodywork. If I had the protectors on it would have stopped this but not done much for the bodywork.

I guess if you are going to ride these things you will pick up chips and dings here and there. I don't have a garage queen anything. They all have rock chips sooner or later if you ride it.
