Are the Sylvania Silver Stars worth anything or are the GE or Philips better? The porpaganda offered by the manufacturers really does not help for a comparision.
My SilverStars only lasted 6 months. I switched to Philips.

I've had the same experience with Silverstars. I've gone through 3 in the last 1.5 seasons. At $27 a pop, I'll be switching.

funny how some seem to have such bad luck with the Silverstars.

I use them in both motorcycles and my car and all have had good life spans.

I tried the Silverstars and thought the improvement was minimal. I then went to the PIAA Xtreme white plus and noticed a big improvement. The light is like the bulb wattage is higher just as they claim. I switched all four of my bikes to the PIAA bulbs. Big light improvement and they're lasting well.

I semi-recently installed some PIAA Intense White bulbs and loooooooove them. They are so choice.

They were about $50 for a pair off PIAA's web site. And, the cool surprise I got was they were sent form a 'dealer' auto parts store about 50 miles away, so I got them real quick.

I accidently ordered 2 pair though, because after checking and re-checking it appeared they were sold as "each" like I had heard the Super Plasmas were.

So far I love my HIDs, I also got some of the smaller ballasts and they have been flawless for nearly 7000 miles.

Would never go back to regular bulbs.

Installed a set of the silverstars as a first step. Result: whiter light with better low beam perefiral pattern & improved high beam reach. Same wattage as stock bulbs with better result. Is it dramatic like a set of HID's? NO. Was it worth $45? YES. Will the silverstars hold up? Don't know, time will tell.
