Here's part of an email from Darryl Cannon, of Killboy.com fame:

<<Hope you guys have fun that weekend. That is also the first weekend that TVA is going to begin controlled releases of the Cheoah river that runs alongside Hwy 129 from Tapoco Lodge towards Robbinsville for kayaking purposes. It will be a Class 5 rapid and I'm really looking forward to seeing those folks shooting down through there, so we may be a little scattered that weekend. >>

I was letting the Killboy Team know we were coming so they might get some shots of all three different color FJRs. :D Now it looks like there will more than likely be a LOT of folks in the immediate area that don't know about the Dragon, or how busy the area is without "normal tourists".

Just a heads up and warning that it might even be more crowded along 129. <_<

#1: Damn paddle huggin' water hippies...

#2: there will be at least FOUR colors of FJR at eom, thank you very much...

I wondered if I was making a little faux pax on those colors. ;) Actually, I'll bet there's even more than 4! One of these days, that could even include mine!

I also wonder how many knuckleheads might try to park along the river on 129 IN the Dragon to try and watch? Maybe we'll get lucky and it will be less spectators and more participants. That way, they'll only be crowding at the top and bottom of the river run.

I'll bet that would be a fun ride, too! Kayaking down the river, I mean.

I'd rather white water raft. Much less of that my fat *** getting stuck upsidedown under water stuff.

The Dragon section is not along the water although going from the dragon to the skyway (or vice versa) would be sticky with cars along that part of 129
