Heat fix

I did cromiets heat fix today. Pretty easy process. Only take about

an hour. Rode it..but fairly chilly today.. so not sure of the degree

(no pun intended) of improvement. It seems better but probably not as

much as expected. Will report more when it warms up.

I also put a heat shield under the tank. That made a fairly good improvment.

This mod was worth the effort and a 10 minute job.

Thought I'd just add my experience. If anyone wants my opinion on tires

or oil I will start a new thread.. :lol:

Did the same mods two weeks ago, right side, left side and tank.

Wished I'd waited a month after riding through a mini blizzard last Sunday.

Between the reflective bubble wrap under the tank, and the Chromeit fixes I have less heat issues that the Gen 2 bikes. The biggest change is the small aluminum U-channel under the left lower frame. I did not cut the inner fairing. The bike does run a little warmer based on the gauge, but does not over heat. I was tired of the "Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire" song anyway. This is much better.

I just did the left side fix. The right, I believe, you would just

use closed cell foam.

Should be riding this evening and will know more about how the left side

worked for me.

OK..took a ride...ambient temp in the 70's. Left side is a definate

improvement... I can really tell because the right leg is noticably hotter.

I would give this mod a solid "B". Good improvement over stock.

Now to do the right side.
