I picked up a new 2015 ES and I am currently moving Farkles from my 2008 to the new 2015. Does anyone know if the old style Heli fits the ES model? I searched and found a thread that mentions it works on the gen III A model but I cant find anything about the ES.

I don't want to drill out the ignition bolts to find out it doesn't work. From just looking at the 2015 and the heli clamp it looks like it may work. The only difference I can see is the electrical connections on top of the forks.

So let me get this straight, you have the privilege of having a Gen 3 ES as well as a Helibar triple tree and you want help?

Why not try it and contribute your findings?

If you have the Heli clamp that I think you have, the answer is no. The upper diameter of the inverted fork is larger than the A models conventional fork. When I picked up my '15A, I moved over an old style Heli clamp from my previous '09 without issue.

FWIW, MCL does make a specific top clamp for ES models.

Edit to add MCL Link for ES models.

Thanks for the info. I've checked out the mcl, mv, and heli bridge. Not sure which way I will go yet.

Some easy due diligence would be to compare part #'s between the 2015A triple clamp and the 2015ES triple clamp. If the parts numbers are different it's a good indication it won't work.

Thanks for the tips all. I have the answer I needed and it is no it will not fit. The part numbers are different and the MCL link Escapefjrtist posted says it only fits the ES.

I did a lot of research when I considered adding those (sexy) USD forks to my '15A. Easily doable except for the substantial $$$ investment with new forks, conventional cartridges, clamps and miscellaneous pieces and parts. A set of straight used USD forks would slash the cash out considerably.

Back to the point...after all the searching, I would use the MCL top clamp verses the stock + add-on riser.

YMMV

I agree. I'm thinking the mcl route is the best option for me. I don't like the looks of the bridge risers and I want to keep my gps mounted on the stem techmount.

My temporary commute has me driving to Cornish just down the street from Heli manufacturing. Popped in this afternoon and the owner happened to be outside and immediately struck up a conversation. Fast forward: tour of the plant plus the news that their in-house mechanic does installs year-round, not just at bike shows and bike weeks.

Appointment for this Thursday morning. Will send pics of the wiring, etc., on my 16A
