Hi! My wife bought me a 05 FJR for my birthday back in October. She ask “what do you get a man who’s got everything?” And I smiled….anyway it’s an 05 with 17,500 miles on it in near new condition. I’ve been on a Yamaha Royal star venture since 2012 and it’s gotten heavy on me. I have a buddy who was also on a RSV it it got heavy and switched to the FJR so I started Looking. The FJR IS Almost 300 lbs lighter. When I went to sit on one I gave it a good jerk and almost threw it on the ground. Whoa! It felt like a toy compared to the Royal star. Anyway, Glad to be here
i got a question. I’m sure someone has dealt with this. I need to do a service on this bike in winter downtime. I can’t get the seat off so I can get to the airbox so I can look at the air filter. It’s an aftermark 1 piece Yamaha corbin that came on the bike. It also had the monokey givi back rack to mount a top box on. The rack seems to have the seat jammed so I can’t get it loose. It wiggles a little bit side to side but not fore and aft. Any advice is greatly appreciated
