Have to agree with Checkswrecks that some idiot would rather just cut the straps on the helmet. If their stupid enough to steal a helmet their stupid enough to cut the straps. I chose to set the helmet on the seat or rear rack, open the face sheild and I run a 8'X1/2" security combo lock cable through the face opening, through the sleeve of my jacket and through the leg of my riding pants and then through the rear wheel spokes. Nice little package neatly folded up on the seat with the jacket on top of the helmet for if it rains and no cover present. Make em work for it. And if that doesn't work there's always the neat little remote controlled explosive motion sensitive device that fits under the rear seat but that's a whole nuther post. PM. <>< :D

Yaa your probably right. Plus locking up jackets/pants is a bonus. And I already have that cable locks for bicycles that I could use. Can't believe the theivin B's would cut straps these days. Thanks for the continued advice.

Hmmmm.... :specool:

I have a coil-ey cable that I used to use for bicycles that would store very neatly under the seat. I could just loop that around my gear and then hook it onto something solid under the seat.

I bought a single gaurdian lock and mounted it next to the licence plate. I had it rekeyed to match the fjr key. I don't ride with the bags on unless they are packed and I'm touring. This is a good solution for short term security.
