I am now going out to change the crank and final drive oils...
Wow, changing the final drive oil is a quick and simple task, but changing the crank?? Y'all are gonna miss that upcoming ride!

:yahoo: :clapping:

dbx
sorry...engine oil. DONE.

Now just gotta put the t-bar etc and plastic back on.

Again I want to thank those who gave of time to try to trouble shoot for me...although I didn't end up going that far...I appreciated you guys having my back. :clapping:

Told ya. :bleh: She was just a little pissed that you let her sit that long.

Have a great ride and y'all be safe.

Glad to hear the problem was fixed. Question for you (but there's a chance I missed a mention of this in the thread) .... did you happen to wash the bike before you put it away a few weeks ago?

Twice, I've experienced high pressure water impacting the start function in a way that only a WOT start could resolve. (Much thanks to the forum for alerting me to that problem.)

<sheepish> yes, I washed it with a garden hose back in August to get all the NAFO trip spooge off. However I tried to keep the water directed away from the instruments and electrics...maybe I wasn't successful.<sheepish>

Now to prep this bike (and me) for the MO/AR trip by taking a little spin out to western/northwestern IL. :clapping: :clapping:

I wish I was...now I need a seminar in using instrument codes, removing injectors, and the best way to detemine spark is present without shocking yourself...

Actually, that's about the only way I have ever done it. It works best if you trick someone else into holding the wire.

Just want you to know...because of your guys' help I took a nice 375+ mile ride to the curvy roads around Galena, Mt Carroll, Elizabeth, and Savanna Illinois. :yahoo:

I have confidence in this beast again after a LONG layoff...wore off some of the rust in my skills little by little. I'll use MO/AR to get the rest of the rust off. :clapping:
