Hello folks

I have a completely stock bike, never ridden it on a long trip, complete newbie to mototouring.

My question:

Should I purchase and install:

1. cruise control

2. power commander

3. tank bag

4. etc...

before I go to WFO or are there going to be people there selling and installing??

I'd rather trade with someone at the rally if such people will be there. I can do the 530 miles to PC okay, but going home via Galcier NP...I'll need the stuff.

Thanks,

Jeff in Boulder

Really a cruise control....or do you mean a throttle lock? If a throttle lock....then I wholeheartedly suggest one. First farkle I put on my bike and indispensable for a long ride.

#1 Vista Cruise

#2 Camelbak (or hydration system)

#3 Bicycle shorts and a seat cushion

#4 GPS with tunes and Etymotic ER-6 earphones

#1 Vista cruise throttle lock - best 21 bucks I ever spent

#2 Expandable tank bag - for when you can't help but bring lots of stuff

#3 Russell seat - allows me to ride for days with no back/spine/bun issues

#4 Givi trunk - I only do 1-2 LD rides a year, but the Givi holds lots & lots of stuff that I need to take

One of the fun things at WFO is just cruising the parking lot getting farkle ideas !

Well, since there's gonna be a prize for most farkled, but not for biggest intentions, I'd suggest going all in on the farkles.

Hell, maybe your newly-farkled bike won't even have any issues and stop running on the way there.

Seriously, I try to refrain from doing too many mods without some serious shakedown rides before a big one.

all right!

Thanks for the wise words... the throttle lock is a done deal, for sure.

Thanks guys,

Jeff
