I intalled my AVCC in the void behind the transmission <link>

The cruise wasn't working for my trip to the Smokey Mountains. I'm planning on posting the problems and the solutions in the near future.

While working on the problem, I found a loose hose (lose hoze)

It follows a path that leads to the right side of the bike in the vicinity of the ABS.

I've looked in the service manual, but can't figure out what this is or where it's supposed to go.

It should be visible in one of V65's photos, but I can't quite pick it out:

It doesn't take much, but you have me stumped. There isn't anything in that area for a line to connect to that I can think of. It doesn't have the appearance of a high pressure hose, so I would say brakes are out. I'm thinking vent hose of some form, maybe it got pulled on from somewhere further forward?

I dug a little deeper and found where the hose goes:

What I still need to know is the correct routing. Is this just a drain line? Here is the current routing, but I have no idea if this is correct.

On pages 2-85 & 86 in the service manual the hose is shown as the hydraulic unit breather hose.

It goes horizontally straight across the bike just above the rectifier/regulator and then bends forward and passes through a guide along with the two cables leaving the rectifier/regulator (three stator coil leads & two DC output leads). Don't know if the open end is higher than the end at the ABS unit?

Probably a breather or vent for the two buffer chambers/accumulators in the ABS unit.

Air filter case drain, most likely.
The air filter housing drain hose is accounted for. It's not that.

On pages 2-85 & 86 in the service manual the hose is shown as the hydraulic unit breather hose.
O.K. I have page 2-85 open and I see it's labeled as "13. Hydraulic unit breather hose"

O.K. I see the guide labeled "H"

It looks like routing it under that was my only mistake. It must just lay there like I have in my photo.

Thanks!

Beers (or O'Doul's) on me!

Ya know the title of this thread could use a little work.
True.

I was in a bit of a rush and didn't catch that.

My wife was feeling a little neglected. She wanted to go for a ride this weekend and I had the bike torn apart - again. She didn't get to go for a ride in May because I had the bike torn apart getting it ready for my trip to The Smokies. Then, what was the first thing I did when I got home from my trip? Yup, tore into the bike again trying to correct some AVCC issues.

Yesterday she went on her first real ride on her new seat. We planned to ride to my sister's cabin and back, about 300 miles round trip. One of my favorite roads in Wisconsin is a stretch of rolling county road. At the right speed, it's like a roller coaster ride.

My wife doesn't like roller coaster rides.

She got sick. It was a good thing we were headed to a place where she could lie down for a while. She ended up riding home with my sister.

Now THAT'S the way to keep your wife-unit happy and encouraged to ride with you.....

That'll teach her.

Neglect or sadistic abuse, it's your choice sweetheart

I just called home to see how she's doing and I got the rest of the story.

Napping was not all she was doing at my sisters.

Unless motion sickness can cause diarrhea, I'm not fully responsible for making her sick.

It also sounds like it'll be "just the two of us" this coming holiday week-end.

I'll have to think of a nice destination where we can spend a night away from home.

(that is unless I tear the bike again this week)
