Yup, and when I bought the FJR from him he had that track bike in the garage.
Did I mention... MY BIKE IS DONE, MY BIKE IS DONE!!!! Ticker fix complete. I pick her up from the dealer tonight. So, I won't need to ride Extremarine's HD. I am so thankful!
Great! But now who's bike do we make fun of? Oh I know...there is going to be a BMW at this years EOM.

Did Yamaha take care of the tick for you cash wise or did you have to pay? I want you to listen to my old 03 next week for the tick. A cruiser bike pulled away from me a few weeks ago so I must have lost some power. My FJR still power wheelies in second though

Is there going to be any Harleys there?

Mr. Bill, I'll definitely put an ear to yours... but the tick is pretty obvious. I knew early on when I discovered mine. I knew for sure by 9,000 miles. Especially when ridng it in 1st, 2nd & 3rd gear. There was an RPM window where it was unmistakable.

I had people tell me a lot of times that they couldn't hear mine at idle... & I do admit that it was sporadic while idling... but absolutely audible in those gears & fairly low RPM's... like 2200 to 25 or 26 hundred. I had a pronounced metallic tap, tap, tap for many, many miles.

Edited to add: I forgot to answer you about me paying or Yamaha paying. It was done on Yamaha's dime.

Congrats on getting the bike back! Timing couldn't have been much better.

Jeez David, I have seen you lurking here just waiting for posts... and that is all that you can say? No smart assed comments or nothin'? I am so disappointed. I'm gonna' have to take back what I think about you.

BTW... thanks

Hey, what's wrong w/ being friendly & all. I promised Keithaba I'd put my ear to his, too. You know, not that I'm an expert, or anything.

After that pic of me on the first page... well, I don't know if either of them want me to put an ear to it.

Back on topic:

Here is a pic from EOM '05. This is taken at a rest stop on Rte 441. From left to right Johnathan (Smthng), Jim (Patent1), Patent1 spawning (don't remember her name), Patent1 wifely unit (don't remember name) & Gary (Toophast). Gumby Damnit (or whoever that may be) is sitting on the mirror:

EXACTLY like mine was. 8k miles when I heard it coming back from EOM '03. Stayed that way until 22k. Noise bad between 2-3k rpm's. I had it done over the winter, and due to family issues this summer I racked up a whopping 1500 miles since getting it back in late March. No, that's not a typo....fifteen HUNDRED miles. :( But they did a good job with it. So far so quiet. :D Let's hope nothing else happens for the remainder of ownership. My YES plan ran out 2 weeks ago.

As I understand it, bikes out of warranty are also being fixed. Hopefully you don't need to find out, huh?

Well, my bike is sitting in the driveway.... quiet as a mouse! She looks like she needs to be ridden.

I believe I'm the only one in this group (first pic) that still rides an FJR. ....suckers.

Looks like three of us from the 2003 EOM are signed up for this year:

Krid - left in picture

Me - 4th from left

FJRandy - right in picture

And four bikes:

The fourth bike from the right is signed up too. That's LuvToRide's bike now.
