Looked out this morning and the white stuff already started.. I'm so not looking forward to this. Awe, just maybe we will still get an Indian summer, since this is sure forecast to have that hard freeze.

Moved the snowblower to the front of the garage yesterday, and the FJR to the back. I need to get it out for a 20 mile loop to heat up the oil before I change it and remove the battery, but it looks like it won't happen this week. Shoulda done it yesterday morning, when it was about 40 and dry.........

I believe that NorCal would take moisture in any form right now, even cold, white water.

October 2014.

We are on the warm side of that front until tomorrow night with temperatures in the 60s. It's supposed to get cold on Wednesday. I hope it doesn't look like that picture Ken linked to.

Got out and rode a 200-mile loop Saturday with temps near 60. Sunday, wiped it down and changed oil, stowed it under a blanket, then winterized and serviced lawn mower, generator, water pump. Raked up six bags of leaves before the wind started. Temperatures dropped and some new snow this morning. Expecting sub-zero for the next few days. FJR is on the battery tender and ready when we get another window. Last year I rode twice in December and twice in January. Maybe we'll be as lucky this winter.

I hate it when I have to throw an extra liner in the jacket.
Winter is a *****.
Ever notice that it's always the ex-smokers that are the biggest complainers about second hand smoke? https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//public/style_emoticons/default/****.gif

Looks like we get a nice holiday day tomorrow to ride, and then the onset of winter in New England by Friday. Looking forward to an Indian Summer soon.

Think I'll trailer down to the Carolinas this winter and pester Mark.

Sounds like a plan Fred. Bring all your liners Fred, you MAY need them.

I agree with your analysis Fred, being an exsmoker, I hate smoke more than I ever did as a nonsmoker.

Not gonna point no fingers, 68 and sunny here today..................Don't know when that's going to happen again.

Oh yeah, the small engine shop just called the carb on my Sears Craftsman snow blower Chinese Junk, said they can't fix it.

Supposed to be near 70 here in PA tomorrow...before winter sets in.

I'm going for a ride somewhere. Yinz guys in CA and AZ can gloat later. We still got the goods ya jag offs.

I got a last ride in on Sunday afternoon and dropped the oil and filter. She's tucked away for the winter.

It's only 22F right now and flurries this afternoon.

But on a good note, the yard work is done, summer equipment/toys maintenance is complete. I just have a weekend or two of wrenching on the sled and I'll be good to go.
