What does Honda know?
Thanks guys, for the replies (serious & not-so-serious). From what I get from all y'all, there are several issues:

  • Beam cut-off
  • Reflector/lens design
  • Lumens
  • Color spectrum/temperature in degrees Kelvin
  • Power available
I'm taking from all this discusson two (I believe?) salient points:
  1. The magazine/editor may have gotten it wrong? Or, for the sake of brevity/intended audience, kept the discussion entirely too simple?
  2. The Honda CRF450X has no DC electrical capability (it does have a "secret" stator) -- hence, no HID ability.
Thanks again for the....'illumination' of the topiic.
