I got something like 5400 miles out of my rear BT021 POS. That was the last Bridgestone I'll ever out on my bike, so long as I have a choice. I maxed a set of Road Smarts around 7600, but think I will go over 9 grand with this current set of PR3s.

If that happens, I'll definitely stick with them.
Please post when the PR 3's are toast.

Almost all your staying in different states, have you considered that asphalt is not the same in all states; For this reason your tires do not have the same durability...

I second Mihalis FJR, the composition of the actual road surface is critical to tire wear.

One of the WORST surfaces is "Chip Seal". I is a layer of molten tar sprayed over the surface of the road to seal it from water infiltration followed by a layer of rock chips about 3/8th's" diameter. Great for traction, terrible for tire wear and, when fresh windshields.

Other reasons could be that gravel part of the asphalt is is crushed rock as opposed to river rock. Crushed rock gives better strength to the road and better traction but, depending on the cost of river type pea gravel in your area, is more expensive. Some municipalities also like to use crushed glass thinking to help the environment by recycling the glass into road surface.

I have heard them .. This explains probably because same brand and same types of tires in some bikes wear quickly and some others not...

Yea I don't like those. Look there are still dimples just off center and it's down to cord in the mittle. Mine looked just like it with less than half your mileage, 5700m.

I replaced my 021 rear at 14,500 miles and it still had life in it! The Front 021 was a different story....shot at 5,000 miles. Loved PR2's, liking PR3's but don't see / feel any improvement yet over the PR2's. Always 40-41 in the front and 41-42 in the rear.
