Pfffft!
Half the population of Arizona in the winter time is made up of 'winter visitors', or as we locals refer to them - 'snowbirds'. So what's stopping you?

:p
Work! :D
Holy Cow, huron52! Don't mention that horrible word around SkootG, poor little angel will have a heart attack and probably shit himself. Only spell J-O-B around Greg!

Jeff Ashe might be leading the Gen mileage race, with just over 90K miles on his '07. I haven't heard of any Gen 2's with over 100K miles, but maybe some of those warm weather freaks have broken that mark.

The highest mileage is great but your location sure makes a difference... Us in the north have to sit out some of the year.
And when it's between 114 and 128 degrees here in the months of mid-June through mid-October, just how much riding do you think we really get done during our "winter" (blast furnace)! You can always put on more clothes to ride warmly, you cannot ride naked in the Sonoran Desert. Even though SkooterG has done that too!
I can't not ride...though there's been some concern for my midnight "vampire" rides from lakeside to downtown to uptown New Orleans. I just don't stop at red lights or ever pull in the clutch. Works OK so far.

Wonder if I should have another set of black gear and keep my high viz for riding outside the city limits ???

I wonder who holds the Cdn record? Not me for sure, my bike is still tight, hasn't broken in yet at 64Km :D

You? Rob? Chris? Mike? one of those wingnuts from other side of the country?

That's a thought Steve.... I don't know the answer.... I was thinking maybe Rocketdoc or maybe Bugr.

There was some guy recently wrote up in rider magazine that went on some cross continental trip on his FJR. Article said he started the trip with 140k on the machine. I think he's probably got top honors.

Assuming you're talking about the continent of North America, a "cross continent trip" is only 5200 miles, the LONG way, i.e., from Key West, Florida, to Anchorage, Alaska.

That would put him at 146,000 miles. That's still quite a bit short of our SkooterG's 220,000 miles.

Math is an harsh mistress.

That would be studmuffin, and my Hero, John Ryan. The 'trip' of which you speak was *only* his record-breaking run from Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, to Key West, Florida. No bid deal. :D

That boy does ride a crapload on his 2005 FJR. But, last we spoke, I still got him beat odo-wise by a good amount. Still, this is a good reason to email him and find out where he is at these days for 'The List'.

I just talked to John Ryan, who said his FJR is down right now. I asked him how many miles he had on it and if YES would help fix it. Right now he is riding a borrowed K75

He said:

168K on the FJR, but they were all easy miles. ;^) The YES warranty does not cover wear items, which includes the two things it needs most - piston rings and the shock linkage. The YES warranty did get me at least one new alternator and voltage regulator, with labor, and perhaps another small electrical item or two, so it was a good investment.
