Here's a snapshot of why riding Highway 1 in California consistently makes the lists of the top things you must do if you are a motorcyclist.

I distinctly heard a peg scrape (@44-45 seconds) and I must say I am shocked! I seem to recall you expressing the opinion that I was riding beyond what you considered safe limits due to my tendency to judge cornering speed by gently touching my peg feelers to the ground surface... :blum:

[Edit] Vid is working now...

I would never presume to suggest to a rider of your experience and skill that he is riding beyond safe limits because we are not in the same league. :(

The true facts are that I used to think my bike had greater lean-over constraints than it does, but that you proved me wrong, that I am the constraint and not the bike. Also that even when the peg touches, I still have room to dive deeper. The trick for me is to not get psyched out by the fact that your foot is being bumped up off the peg altogether....

Geez Hans,

Figured the 'raspberrying' smilie would let you know I was yanking your chain. Sorry if it came off wrong... Thought you'd remember my "gentle touch" left one of my pegs in the road about halfway through the day. And I know that I am still by far the most limiting factor on what my machine can do, too.

Didn't come off wrong. Saw and appreciated the smiley faces. Thank you. Just trying to be, uh, humble...

It was great to see you again, and I look forward to a lot of rides this spring, summer, fall with the Sacramento crowd.

Hans

JB, love that stretch of Hwy 1 too. My favorite part is the Legitt Pass at the north end. Haven't had the feejer through it yet, but it was a blast on my ZRX. :clapping: :yahoo:
