I bought them from my local stealer because I needed them right then and there and didn't want to wait, so I'm sure I paid more than I had to. They were MSRP $54 and change, he said the store price was $49.99, and I get a 20% discount from them, so I paid $40.

I used the hardware than came with them, but then I had to do quite a bit of Dremel work to make them fit the way I wanted to. In addition, I bought new handlebar weight screws (longer) and put a spacer in so as to not interfere with the throttle. As mentioned above, I got the V-Strom 650 guards, so I don't know if they are different than the V-Strom 1000 guards.
