SOLID!!! You aren't kidding!!! I was on the adrenaline thing when i kicked it...one of those instant reactions. Very lucky it was a youngin and not a mature buck with a rack. Probably about 150-200lb.

Thing is, if I had been solo, I probably could have stopped...woulda been a quick stop, but since I had wife on back, I had to make the call.

Can't really say "if this and if that".

Lucky it wasn't a horse!! LOL, or a COW!

Glad you came through ok, my buddy hit a deer last weekend on his BMW GS1200, he stayed up but broke the beek off this bike and the deer went into the neighbors yard and died, it's that time of the year

Yep, Bambi's Mother came within 36" of my front tire coming home from Run For The Wall in Virginia on Skyway Drive.

I was tailgunner with Mark on his Cherry Goldwing in front of me with Cruise set to 40mph (35 mph speed limit up there).

Truckin' along about 8am and thare she is in a flash hauling arsh across the road between Mark and I. The look on her face was "I wanna get over there NOW" so glad she was motivated to move as fast as she could perpendicular to my travel.

Couple of years ago on the Texas Hill Country three sisters, a small doe had jumped the fence that runs along the road on both sides. She saw a line of ten of us coming and as I came along side her at number 4, she started running along the road right on the side of me. I kept slowing down and blowing my air horn and she just stayed there for 100 yards or more. Finally I was laying on the horn and ready to come to a stop, but was worried about the six bikes behind me not stopping or being distracted by the deer. Finally, she turned away from me and leaped over the same fence where she had come and ran back among the trees.

Note to WFooshee: Walter, your mantra was in my head on the Blue Ridge Parkway the same day we rode the Skyline.

I think ya said to hit anything the size of a Poodle or smaller. Well, the sound of a chipmunk checking the road for food when my Feejer comes along is: "pop, pause, pop". Walter had a bit of a problem with a lil animal a ways back.
