Hit by a House!

RJ and others here say they're tired of hearing about everybody's close calls, mishaps, crashes, etc. Well, I for one, appreciate knowing that I'm not the only idiot on a motorcycle or on this forum, and I actually learn sometimes from other people's experiences. It also reminds me to be a little more careful and attentive when I'm out there riding.

I don't know what I could have done to prevent what happened to me yesterday, though, when I was hit by a flying shingle. That's right, a piece of roof came off the house next to me, flew down and whacked me in the right arm while I was happily riding my FJR down the freeway at 70mph. Granted, the house, or more accurately, half a mobile home was also travelling down the freeway at about 65 mph just to my right. I just barely glimpsed something out of the corner of my eye above me then whack, I'm hit by asphalt instead of riding on it.

Hurt for a few minutes, but no damage done. ATGATT!

I dragged those cussed things over the road for five years an have to say you were lucky.. I've seen more **** fly off em than I care to comment.

Suffice to say. Get the hell away from those things as fast as you can!! Ya oughta see what happens when a tire/wheel assembly goes through a windshield of some unlucky bugger..
