Well what can you say after a weekend like that.

It was a BLAST.

Great Hotel, geat food, great rides and gets of all FANTASTIC people.

5 of us left the Hotel at 5.45am this morning and headed home to SoCal (I was planning to stay in Vegas tonight but decided to just keep going).

I discovered my rear tire was worn thru to the belts when we stopped at Nephi Utah at around 7am this morning ( thats 653 miles from home) I decided to just keep an eye on it and keep going.

I guess i should ride with a bald tire more often as i definately slowed me down.

Anyway we are all home safe and sound and looking forward to NFO next year.

And by the way the thermometer in Bake said 111 degrees when we stopped there at around 1pm.

I will post pictures here tomorrow.

Glad you are home safe and sound despite the tire. Great meeting you Richard!!!!

So was that you with three other FJR's that Deb and I met up with in Baker between 2-3PM or some other hot riders?

With stops we made the return trip in 12h 45min. The 112F in Baker was a little too much to take. We couldn't stop in that heat so we just kept going.

Great time at WFO. We'll be there again next year.

Who was that CHP was yelling at??? Fess up. He was pissed off.

Shit you saw that, oh well.

He was yelling at OCED (he was in the back) apparently he was pissed that we were lane splitting as quick as we were, he told ED that if he saw him doing it again he would take him to Jail. He then proceded to come after me in the emergency lane, It was a real Smokie and the Bandit mement as he passed right between me and a van and did not see me. really was my lucky day i guess.

WFO was indeed a BLAST! Thanks to Warchild, Ignacio, SkooterG, GeorgeZ, slapnpop, Tim and the many, many others who worked so very hard to put on such an outstanding moto event! I did not want to see it come to an end I was having such a good time with such wonderful people. It was a real pleasure meeting Fairlaner, Barry, Ed and all of the Los Angeles crew. And it was great riding out for day trips with FJR Ray and his daughter, and meeting up with the Oregon group. Art Montoya vectervp1 and I rode home together to Chandler, Arizona with no incidents except a huge rain storm at the Gap on the Navajo reservation south of Page; just waited it out under an Indian jewelry stand roof. I will definitely be at NFO in Colorado next year! Sincerely, Don Stanley

Postscript to Richard: Thanks for saving me some money! I suffered a heart attack while diving in Hawaii in October of 2005 while on a dolphin excursion trip. St. Francis Lilihaa Hospital in Honolulu performed a three artery blockage angioplasty procedure on me. I was scheduled to have a nuclear stress heart treadmill test next month. But with the speeds that Fairlaner was leading us at on our trip up to Park City I am going to tell my cardiologist that I'm skipping the test, my old ticker is doing just fine if I can hang in there with Richard speeds!

Ya glad to hear you all made it back safe and sound. It was a pleasure riding up with everyone and I really enjoyed staying up with Richard and David thru the mountain roads.

Hope to do it again real soon.

Thanks, Dan

It may have been me ... I didn't really want to look him in the eye.

On second thought, he definitely was looking in my direction. I thought he said something like "If I ever see you ___ ___ ___ again, I'll throw you in jail". And it appeared he said this with a some gusto.
