Holy ****!

Chester, My man... My heart dropped reading that you went down! I know you are a strong advocate of ATGATT, Which is a DAMN good thing!

Give me a call when your up to it, ANYTIME.

Adam

No one else took pictures??
I took pictures when YOU took pictures (on the ferries). I'd post them but it would be kinda redundant.

On the trips to WFO, I routinely had my camera strapped to my wrist and tucked up my sleeve. Was pretty easy to take snaps when "smelling the roses" or just wicking straight lines in Nevada or Utah. But in Hooterville... mmmm.... no time for pickies enroute.

I'll try to do better next time.

It was hard to take piccies through those 35mph curves... :yahoo:

Hmmmmm.....I don't remember going through any curves at 35 mph

'Course you weren't on 160 east, how was 160 west?

Littered with stuff from petey's tail bag. :p

160 west is nice in places, but 248,13 and some "letter" roads I was on, were great :yahoo:

All I littered 19 with, was my FJR cap :glare:

Well after four days in the hospital, Chester made it home. He called Wed. in the afternoon saying he could click his heals together and go back to Kansas. After work I drove to Poplar Bluff and shoehorned this beat-up biker into my car. A few hours later, five deer and 200 miles we are in Springfield Mo. This was the relay spot... Chester had a friend from Kansas City meet us there. Timing was perfect, and Chester was on his last leg ( ) home. I talked to him this morning and he made it home around 1:30 am safe and sound. For myself, it was about 2:00am before rolling into Hooterville.

After a event like this, it makes me think about riding at a more than spirited pace. I am very glad my friend will be here to ride (a KTM 990 :yahoo: ) again. I also signed up for a 40 hour first-aid/first responder training so I can more prepared if something like this happens again.

I am sure Chester will be on-line sometime today.....

Ride safe everyone, Smitty

Thanks Smitty for helping out once again...you always go way beyond the call to help a brother out. B)

...and Chester, post up once you get a chance. :clapping:

Good on you Smitty. That 40 hours training might be the best thing you could do for family and friends.

Regret I lived in the wrong direction to help out with the relay. We are lucky to have good people in the m/c community.

Hey Chester...how ya doin these days?

Also, I'm interested in doing both MO AND AR in the fall...so stay tuned later this summer for updates...

Sorry to be so late in getting back to you all but I fel like I 've beed eaten by a bobcat and **** off a cliff. And then to top it off when I came to I found out I was accountant. Some damn nightmares are just too real.

First, I can't even begin to thank those who assisted in my recovery in some fashion or another. Especially Smitty. Is there a better man on earth. I nominate him for the "Mother Theresa in wolfs clothing" award of the year.

A lot of the early part is just a haze as I was too busy taking a nap to be bothered with all this calling the first responders and cleaning up the wreck site. The only thing that I can think happened is that I dozed off. All I can remember is seeing the side of the road and the tire going off and then waking up in a daze with all of these "legs" around me and people saying "stay down" - sure, lets all gang up on the broken down old guy. Damn bunch of wimps. Pick on somebody who can fight back.

I was transported to Doniphan and subjected to some "wrasslin matches" getting my gear off and then they called in the big boys and sent me to Poplar Bluff were they stuck a tube in my chest for a punctured lung. I arrived there Sat. afternoon and was there until Weds about 6:30 when Smitty hauled me to Springfield, MO, about 200 miles, where a Kansas City friend took over and finished the ride getting home at almost 2 am Thurs. morning.

I have had a lot of thoughts about this and one of the first things that came to mind when Smitty said that the FJR should be totalled was that now I would use the proceeds to get the KTM 990. When I am healthier I will post more.

Sorry too have been the speed bump in this otherwise great ride.

To everyone for their thoughts, phone calls, assistance, etc. thank you doesn't even come close to repayment for your aid, unless you want one perfectly round FJR with all of those unstreamlined parts that just got in the way smoothed off.

One thing kind of funny, I had the room by myself until Weds about lunch time when they brought in a man of a much lesser economic and educational background. I couldn't see very well but he looked to be close to my age (60). The doctor was giving a quick visual going over and asked

D - how old are you?

P - 26

D - how tall are you?

P - 5'8"

D - how much do you weigh?

P - over 300

D - what happend for you to be here?

P- I was in the kitchen this morning eating a "chicken neck bone and a piece of pie"

Patient had gall stones and was going to have to have his gall bladder removed. He had three or four similarly shaped women with him and I swear they were going to have a revival there. Smitty to the rescue

Thanks again to everyone. Just like Douglas MacArthhur, or was it Ahhnold that said "catch you on the flip flip floppin when the flip flip floppins quit flop flop floppin along"

Chester

Chester: you are soooo City Boy.

Otherwise you would know that anybody who can afford to have PIE with his chicken neck for breakfast in Doniphan Co. is one of the upper crust. It is obvious why he is a babe magnet.

He was probably just trying to impress the doctor too. <_<

Chester,

You make me laugh. :D I'm glad that yer back in your own surroundings and healing up. Sorry about the accountant thing though...some things the doctors just can't fix. :)

Take care there buddy...we're still pullin' for ya.

Now it's time to go back and reread your post for another laugh.

One thing that I forgot to mention the doctor to my roommate

D - you don't have very many of your teeth do you?

I guess that it helps get down into those grooves on the neckbones.

See you guys

Chester
