Apparently while wiring up my Magnum Blaters I blew the fuse for the horn. I've looked all over and in the owners manual. I can't find where it is located.

It is not listed on the fuse block either.

The brake light is not working either. I guess it shares the same fuse.

My bike is an '05.

The fuse block is under the "A" panel, behind the glove box. If it's not listed as "horn", is it the accesorie fuse? Ihaven't been under mine for awhile, so I'm guessing, but it sounds like your deduction about shared fuse would be accurate. That way you 'd know when your brake light fuse was blown, wouldn't you? ;)

According to the wiring diagram the horn has a separate fuse. I will see whether I can find the fuse location in the service manual.

Hang on,

-Flere

Edit: I'm sorry. The information in the wiring diagram I have is incorrect. In the service manual the fuse for the horn is the same as the fuse for the signalling system. See below.

Yamaha tends to call it the signals or indicators fuse. The horn is on with the ign. switch. once you find the fuse block you can test each circut without removing any fuses if youhave a 12V test light. The blade fuses have test ports on the top. Clip the test lignt leat to ground and probe each fuse oprning. If both ports are dead, the fuse isn't powered. If one port is dead, the fuse is blown. If both ports are hot that one is ok.

The horn fuse should be in the fuse block under Dash Panel A (the panel with the glove box). The horn fuse supplies power to the front and rear brake switches, so no horn, no brake lights. Be warned that some of the fuse labels on at least the '04s are wrong. If you are already in the fuse box simply look for the blown fuse and disregard the labeling. Looking at the top of the fuse you will see two little metal tabs -- probe these to check for voltage. With the ignition on there should always be 12V on both tabs, if not it is blown.

If anyone is accessing this fuse block for the first time you have to remove Panel D (over the battery), then Panel C (right side), followed by Panel B (left side), finally Panel A. Try this in the dark with a blown headlight fuse :erm:

Yes, according to the service manual, the horn fuse is the fuse 73, also called the signalling system fuse. Should be a 15 amps fuse in the fuse block. But my service manual is from 2001, so the amperage can be different nowadays.

Good luck,

Anybody have a more recent service manual for download?

It turned out to be the "Signal" fuse.

It is a 15A fuse.

I was thrown off because the 4 way flashers and turn signals still worked.

I guess they are calling the brake light... "Signal".

Thanks everyone for the quick responses.
