Wondering if any of you have this problem... my heels become uncomfortably hot during any ride 20 minutes or longer. I am currently wearing Wolverine brand boots. The heel of the boot isn't hot to the touch, but my heel gets so hot I find myself hanging my boots off the very edge of the peg to get away from the exhaust. Not sure if different boots would help... Does a "true" motorcycle boot have some type of shielding in the heel area to protect against the heat from the exhaust? Any suggestions?

Real motorcycle boots have a more heat resistant sole. When I switched to my Dr. Marten work books I noticed they would melt on the pipe. I put on an exhaust shield and that solved my melting problem. I did not feel heat from the exhaust though.

Check the FJRtech.com website linked here and see the Tanji heat shrouds. Two installed on mine and no more melted souls.
