Rode 150 miles or so on the FJR Saturday, jumped on the FZ1 and rode about the same distance on Sunday.

It's a very noticeable difference in temperature between the two bikes. I really didn't think there would be as big of a change. Boy is this bike comfortable 2 up though.

Anytime you have a nake biked vs a faired bike, especially when the faired bike has an engine over 30% larger than the naked bike, you'll have more heat being generated by the faired bike. It's not unique to Yamahas.

My FZ1 is faired also, that's why I was a bit surprised.
