"Hot to" Mounting

Ok I'm mounting my MP3 player, Radar detector, way down the road, next year probably a GPS.

For now MP3 and Radar.

What is the best way to mount Center mount, handle bar mount,left hand mirror hole mount?

I accidentally ordered the lever mount so I guess I can use that for my MP3.

That leaves the center mount for Radar or the mirror or handle bar?

I did a search I can't find where this specific question has been asked.

Things it would help to know are:

1) what type of all of these things are you mounting....

2) Do you want them to stay on the bike all the time, or have them easily removable...

3) Is your bike an '06 or earlier model?

4) How did you accidentally order the lever mount? :blink: And while we're on it, what the heck is a lever mount anyway? :huh:

There's lots of options... once we know the details...

Detector is the Bell RX65

MP3 is small, iriver

I want them to come off the bike easily

Lever mount is also called a (control mount) I used the wrong part number. No biggie I will use it anyway.

I mounted my V1 RD to a RAM Power Plate (magnetic plate) that allows it to be very secure, yet come off in a few seconds when I want to remove it... the attach point to the bike uses the mounting screws for the brake reservoir ... see a picture here

You can also see what I used to mount something in the center... it's a stem stand by Techmount. That is the short length stem.. they also come in longer ones... Hopefully someone else will chime in on the MP3, since I'm using an XM radio for tunes.

Here's what I did: XM radio on the clutch reservoir (where you could mount your MP3), GPS on a Stemstand in the center, Radar Detector on a "control mount"/ram mount w/ magnetic plate.

Everything is wired through my autocom into my helmet speakers.

That's why God had someone invent duct tape! IIRC, we used to call it "100 mph tape".
