Team PATA B&G Racing switches to Aprilia

Seems to me that switching manufacturers right smack dab in the middle of the season is problematic...

Unless, of course, Max Baggi and Leon Camier are going to share all their Factory RSV4 test data gathered to date... even then, with little to no time on the bike, wonder what level of performance this satellite team really expects Jakab Smerz to obtain the rest of the season? :worriedsmiley:

Guess we'll find out the rest of the season...

Makes no sense to me, but, we aren't given the details of what happened behind the scenes. Perhaps his team wasn't given the assistance from Ducati that was promised/expected. Regardless, I doubt Aprilia factory will be tight lipped with data to date. Smrz is running mid pack and is not nipping at the heels for Max or Camier, so, if/until that happens, Aprilia should help them get more Aprilias towards the top of the standings week in and week out. They should be happy with consistent top 10s

What's the problem? They just scrape the Ducati decals off and stick on the Aprilia decals. Easy peasy. B)

So, just the opposite of this?

Oh, I'll bet there is all kinds of high-drama behind this decision..... it's not like Smerz wasn't scoring any points at all on the 1098 bike.

Still, that Team PATA satellite outfit is very, very good... this will be interesting to watch. The Apirilia RSV4 is just about the fastest bike in the paddock this year.... and that BMW S1000RR is not too far behind it in straight-line speed...

He would be much higher in the standings if he would finish some of the damn races! Except for 1 race in Monza, at every race where he actually finished a race, he was within the top 10 (15th at Monza).

Interesting that he ended up on the Aprilia. He tested a BMW a few weeks back.

I don't doubt that many racers are trying to figure out a way to get a 'Priller RSV4 under them after watching Maximiliano dominate...?

"He's got motor on me...!"

I like how Warchild keeps trying to shove a vowel into Smrz's name.

We don't need to stinkin' vowels!!

And he's doing even better after 1st qualifying session
