Atta Boy sandiegoland!!! :clapping: :yahoo: :clapping:

Hang THAT cert with pride son. You earned it!

GZ - Great ride! (What little I saw of it.) I think my little note of encouragement I wrote on my map during the rider's meeting pretty much sums it up...

Thanks to everyone! Half the battle in life is the company you keep. I can see now how people can get these seemingly impossible rides done, and what keeps them coming back together to meet as often as they can.

I'm not sure if it was euphoria or jet-lag... but these rides stick with you for days... :evo:

Thanks to all you guys for coming out to the rally - and for celebrating my birthday. Thanks to the folks who brought beer and cigars and thanks for making it out alive. George set up a great route and I felt even more akin to this rally not just because of my birthday - but because of this being my favorite local roads. Though GZ made the route - I felt like I was sharing my faves with all youse guys.

Only one person crashed and many were able to sit up and eat pizza afterwards - though the beer went mainly unconsumed. Since I was riding home, I only had one. .

Anyway -

Thanks to GZ for doing this and arranging it and putting up with it. Thanks to my parents for doing the dirty on a day that corresponding 58 years later there would be a full moon and relatively warm temps (too bad it didn't start on my birthday instead of finish - would have been warmer and less windy). How considerate of them.

and thanks for all in attendance.

haven't posted on here in a long time - but this was a good enough reason.

I had a good time too. Although I didn't do the official ride, I did do a nice sensible ride on Saturday. In my defense, my GPS was F%#Ked and night time riding without it would have been impossible, especially without local knowledge and not getting the new route until I was enroute really made it tough. I wasn't going to do it anyway as the event was just an excuse to ride. See what I mean here: "Escape from the Snow" . While doing that 520 mile ride on Saturday my thoughts and concern went out to the ones riding this event. The wind was blowing 25-40mph in some places. Riding the curves going up to some of the mountain tops you would experience the wind actually uprighting the bike in 20mph corners. Lots and lots of energy went to corrections. And then again the dried brush was blowing across the road. At night this would have been startling. In the daylight it was unnerving.

Congrats to all that did this ride and thanks to George and Chuck for organizing it and spending time with me to plot out a good days ride.

Hey Doug:

Thanks for the great write-up and great to see you at the finish.

Take care
