OK speak up how many and what do you not like about it.

I had a bad experience with them (Corbin) and really don't want to use them but I also don't want to send my seat to CA and lose my bike for 2-4 weeks.

Sargent?

I have an '06.

I'm very happy with mine... :yahoo:

I didn't like the price.

I sorta like my Corbin. Sorta. I used to it. It gets me lower to the ground. After 8K on it, it still isn't comfortable.

I'll bet those of you who want to send in your seat could find a replacement to beg borrow buy or steal during the Russell down time. Or buy a set from G McCoy, then sell them after the turn around and get most of your money back.

ME? I may wait till the snows fly and go for the Russell. But the problem is that I'm STILL vertically challenged. And THAT issue may be worse with a Russell....

Like my $muggler, though. A LOT.

Like my Cordin Dual Saddle Sport very much, pillion appréciate the backrest.

Like the look, not for sale :)

TWO THUMBS UP FOR Corbin! :clapping:

Fits great,

Well made,

Looks good,

& Comfortable.

Good idea. I just got my Bill Mayer custom made (ride in appointment) and rode 1500 miles in 2 days (1200 in 24 hours) and never got discomfort from the seat. Wow. This was after the first day ride of 440 miles home from BMS where it performed well too, even in break in.

Corbin. I have the Corbin Canyon seat. I like it and I am comfortable on it for 225-275 miles on a hot day and 350 on a cold day (heat makes me uncomfortable faster). I think the Corbin exacerbates the heat problem on the FJR (pre 06). The black pan and the fact is it lower and closer to the heat source are what I blame for this. That said, the build quality and materials are really quite good.

CORBIN:::::::: I HATED MINE! I had the close saddle. Everyone said give it time to break-in. 10,000 clicks later it was still hard as a rock. I have since taken my Corbin and had it re-done by Sargeant. Added their foam to the corbin pan and then recover it with their covering. WOW. What a world a difference. I must say I'm not a huge fan of the Sargeant seat for this bike. It has mini-wings I didn't care for. One of the big differences between the two companies is that Corbin's covering is attached to the foam where the Sargeant is loose over the entire seat.....hmmmmmm just my 2 cents.

Love my 06 Corbin after 3,000 miles or so. It is firm but very comfortable for me. Last time I spoke with Sargent their 06 seat was not going to be out until next spring.

I've read many different motorcycle forums the past couple of years, and one thing is more certain than any other issue that comes up. About half the riders love Corbins, and the other half hate them.

It doesn't even seem worth asking for opinions on it any more because there is nothing even remotely like a concensus on Corbins. You just have to take a chance, and figure someone will buy it if it's not for you.

I bought a Sargent over a year ago and after a few months of riding to break it in, it is great. I am very happy with it. Even when it was brand new, it was better than the stocker.

FJRocket, do you find with the 06 seat all that way down it is still high? Not any more reach than your 04?

I guess Russell cannot thin out their seats, it would take away from their comfort.

If it isn't worth it then why reply?

I think it is worth it and appreciate everyones opinion.

Thanks alll and Sargent will not have a seat for an '06 untile spring '07. Oh well.

If you don't want to hear of other's opinions, don't open this topic anymore. I have had three corbins, ZX-11, ZX-12r and ST1300. All very comfortable for me and service "beyond the norm" on two occasions. May eventually get one for my 06 FJR but stock seat ok for now.

06 FJR

2000 ZX012r

2000 SE RG

1999 XX

2000 100XR (The Sreamer)

I had Sargent re-foam,re-contour and re-cover my rider's seat. It was very reasonably priced and 20,000 miles later,I still love it.

I have 27 1/2" inseam so it is lower, narrower than stock and I can reach the ground before I fall over.

Contact them. They do good work for a fair price.

I had 15k on my yamaha/corbin ,, after suffering 3k on the stocker ,, I bought it off the forum from a member that said his wifey rode on it once and it had to go ,, I found it to be a great seat ,,

And then only *maybe.* I signed up for notification regarding a replacement seat for a K12S nearly 2 years ago. AFAIK, there still isn't one and it was "due in the spring."

OTOH, send Sargent your seat and they'll do a turn around in a couple of weeks per your instructions.
