Through my forum searches I've seen reports ranging from 4K to 10K for tire life on the BT020s. For those of you the get closer to the 4K mark do you ride twisties all the time and push hard? I have about 1K on my '07 right now and 90% of that has been straight and flat, just like most of the roads here in North Texas. :cry: I'll be leaving on a 3000 mile round trip ride in 9 days and I'm expecting a lot more twisty roads on the trip. I assume that if I ride only moderately aggressive (I know, very subjective) I won't have any problems with worn tires on the return trip home? Anyone think differently?

Thanks for your input

I put 15,000 km. on mine. The back tire was just about to the wear bars but the cupping on the front tire was starting to do a bit of extra steering when hitting tar snakes while cornering. I've gone to the BT021's and so far like them except for the front tire makes a bit of noise.

I got just over 10K miles. The last 200-300 miles the front was cupping REALLY badly. Other than that, I was very happy with them.

About 4k miles. The BT020's are hard and slippery besides giving the bike's handling a crummy feel. Otherwise, I liked them..... Except they are a ***** to mount and dismount.

I got only about 4200 miles on two rear Bridgestones before they were down to the treadwear indicators. The Pilot Roads I'm using now are wearing much better than the 'stones did. No more Bridgestones for me. Not so much hard twisties, but lots of acceleration and prolonged high speeds.

Thanks for the replies...looks like I'll be OK as long as I don't completely grind down the peg feelers. :)

4,500 on rear and 6,000 on front

I agree that they cup badly and prematurely, especially the front. And I'm glad someone else thought they are a real ***** to mount -- so did I.

only ran the oem set and never went back. squared off the rear at 6k miles but the front was all FUBARed, with serious cupping, at about 4k miles.

6k on the rear and a nail took it out. still had several thousand left in the tread. Dealer had a BT020 in stock, so that went on. Fronts still going strong at 8k. Slight cupping, but nothing major. Looks like another maybe another 2-4k on the front. I'm of the mind that the stock tires don't instill the trust to use the full potential of the FJR. They work decent for commuting tho. I'll probably be moving to a different tire when this set burns out.

7800 miles, at least 6000 of which was two up. No problems here! Currently running Pilot's, two dealers I went to did not have the 021's.

I have just over 8,000 on my 05. I am the second owner but know the original owner very well and we have a fairly similar riding style. Neither tire is "worn out" but I just ordered a set of road attacks to give them a whirl. The bike has been ridden in a "moderately aggressive" manner it's whole life.

6k, moderate - agressive, some high speed, NOT enought twisties; 50% two up; quite a bit of cupping on the front;
