I've got 1 day left now (6/4/08) and then I'm off for 2.5 months. Ive got a road trip planned for this weekend and looking to do several SS1,000's.

What are your plans?

Heh-heh. College prof here. I don't exactly get the summer off -- I'm at the office right now even though our semester ended in early May -- since promotions and raises are based on research production and other things for which there is no time during the school year. However, I don't get paid for the summer so my schedule is my own and I feel no guilt about taking long vacations. It lets me go to NAFO this year while still having family vacation time.

It's definitely a great job perk. Of course, it's a 9 month salary too, but it's still one of the reasons I went into this biz.

Every summer, I am highly envious of the teachers. Then I remember the hell that my friends & I gave our teachers... & I realize why these folks need a long break.
