I just changed the oil in the rear final drive of my 2006. I filled it up (Rotella 80-90wt) until it started coming out, spun the wheel and put in some more. Each time I spun the wheel the oil level went down slightly so I continued to put in more oil. How much oil should there be in the final drive?

Fill it to the top of the hole. Spin the wheel backwards a couple of revolutions and let it settle. Refill to the bottom of the hole again and you are ready to go.

It's secretly hidden in the FAQ I have put here. for newbie's enjoyment.

Feel free to print it out and take it for reading while on the crapper! :D

Man I was hoping to come here and see another RTFM statement. :D

Final Drive Oil Capacity: 0.20L (0.21 US qt) is 200 milliliters.

If your measuring devices are like mine they always have a different measurement than what is given in the manual

Great post -- works well for that stubborn stint on the crapper! I printed 2 copies -- one to read/wipe, and one to save!

Actually thanks Ignacio -- great info!
