Enjoyed myself at Tech Day, watching other people struggle. Seemed to be a good day - nobody broke or lost anything that I know of. Hopefully when they bled Wayne's brake system they didn't leave any air in it

Of course, Wayne - you don't need no stinkin brakes, right?

I thought this whole thread was a joke so I did not click on it until now. Somehow the words "Organize" and "Owosso" just don't go together.

You guys make me jealous. I think I would rather attend one of those Tech Days at Bust's than go on an organized ride somewhere. Those pictures remind me of what I had hoped this forum would be like when I first started lurking here.

For the first time in quite a while, my bike did not need any major surgery! So, nothing got broken and we didn't have any extra mystery parts left over.

Steve - it was nice to meet ya! Lemme know if ya wanna get together and go prowl SE Ohio.

Allen - after seeing you at the Ramble it was nice to meet you!

Bust - lemme know how Anthony liked his "gift" from me.

A few more photos from Tech Day in Owosso.

Pista (Steve) thought he could buy our knowledge with donuts from the Owosso Timmy's.....

Tech%20Day%20Sat%20-1-L.jpg

He was correct.

Griff rode over to Owosso on the Hondapotamus since his POS FJR had broke the centerstand. Griff needed something with the trunk size of a Lincoln Town Car to carry the parts.....

Tech%20Day%20Sat%20-2-L.jpg

A couple of the new folks had not checked the Security Torx screws on the sidebag locks.....

Tech%20Day%20Sat%20-3-L.jpg

Griff had the proper torx screwdriver to take care of this little job....

Tech%20Day%20Sat%20-4-L.jpg

The Security Torx Screwdriver is hollow in the center so that the screwdriver will fit over the little pin in the screw.

We gave Andy a set of instructions to read so he could feel involved but we never gave him any tools. We know better.....

Tech%20Day%20Sat%20-5-L.jpg

Pam wanted me to get a photo of Allen C's '14 ES with the flowers. In the sunlight you get a much better idea of the true nature of the "Arrest Me Red"

Tech%20Day%20Sat%20-6-L.jpg

By late afternnoon Steve just about had all the electrical roughed in and ready for testing......

Tech%20Day%20Sat%20-7-L.jpg

Pam and Tom had done shopping and Pam bought Tom a new suit....

Tech%20Day%20Sat%20-8-L.jpg

You don't get in Pam's way when shopping. We needed to go over to Home Depot for some PCV to make fork preload spacers and then we went over to Walgreens since I needed to get some cheater glasses since I had a senior moment and had forgot to bring my reading glasses. I had a few other senior moments this weekend since I had also forgot:

  1. The keys for my motorcycle
  2. The motorcycle (it was still at Ray's place in my trailer)
  3. The box with the lighting kit I wanted to install
  4. The charger for my computer
When I realized I didn't bring my keys it then dawned on me that since the bike was in gear and it is an AE and does not have a clutch handle it was going to be a major operation just to get the bike out of my trailer and transfer over to Ray's trailer. That plus the fact that without the key I was not going to easily take off the seat to be able to remove the plastic to install the Stiffy Kit. With all that I didn't see the point of hauling the bike to Owosso just to have it take up space.

What I did remember to do was to close the car door when we parked at Walgreens. In Pam's hurry to check out the sales she left the rear car door wide open and no one else noticed it while we all went in to Walgreens. Fortunately Tom had locked the other three doors so everything was secure.

. None of us mentioned this little incident for the rest of the weekend................................ NOT.

As a penalty Wayne made Pam do five laps around the driveway.....

Tech%20Day%20Sat%20-9-L.jpg

Wayne tried to penalize me but I fell off the stupid thing.

Bust had spared no expense and shipped in a flag from Ray's favorite team. Steve checked out the flag just before he headed out for home while Bust held it up for inspection......

Tech%20Day%20Sat%20-10-L.jpg

Tom picked up this beer cooler for CFR just in case the beer thief FJRPierre shows up.....

Tech%20Day%20Sat%20-11-L.jpg

Just before Ray and I headed back to the Great White North Bust presented Ray with Ray's Favorite Team's flag.....

So ends another Tech Day in Owosso. Thanks to everyone who made the trip and added to the fun. Very special thanks to the girls for keeping us fed throughout the weekend. However there will be a poll (pole?) on what will be for supper next time since all the men got into trouble for not having any ideas.

If I post the poll it will state the following:

What do do want to have for supper?

  1. beer
  2. more beer
  3. anything as long as there is beer to go with it.
Once again there would be no Owosso Tech Day without Sheila & Barry opening up their home to us for the weekend. A very special thank you to you both.

Bust has to send me a CD with some time lapse photos from tech day since due to technical difficulties my copy got removed from my GoPro. Once I get Barry's copy I will be able to post a movie of some of the going ons from Tech Day.

Time lapse, cool.

When you post up that video. Could you clearly title the post.

Sure don't want to open that one by accident.

When my wife saw the picture of Griff's Hondapotomus she said' "That's not a motorcycle. That's a SmartCar, an anorexic one!" :)

More frivolity

Andy and my son Anthony have an ongoing mess with each other feud.

The large and small of the weekend..

tech9024_zpsfa5a56a5.jpg

Since The Evil Polish Warlord couldn't ride the small, we used him for an obstacle

tech9022_zps2da02740.jpg

Wayne was simply amazing!! This is milliseconds after he used Bill for a speed bump!

tech9023_zpsd9a232ae.jpg

Oh the Horror! We're almost out of beer and it's only 10 AM!! Disaster was averted by a 40 second walk to da store.

tech9021_zpscba8d1d8.jpg

Dolly came out of retirement to attend..

tech9016_zpsc701becc.jpg

Well we figured if a Honda was acceptable, this sorry orange thing should at least be cannibalized!

tech9009_zps58bff741.jpg

Crump saying **** IT! Just get the damned tire mounted so I can get the Hell Outa here!!

tech9006_zpsc8b3620d.jpg

I know!! Griff was here!! Seems he woke up feeling too good about hisself and figured hanging with quality peeps would only accentuate the feeling.

I think he might have committed hisself to the insane asylum as I haven't heard from him..

tech9010_zpsf92b9934.jpg

Andy in the best place for him!

tech9005_zps931dadc3.jpg

Cheap jug of swill, a sunset, and warm temps kept the broads outa manly mens hair!

tech9001_zps9d2ab7a3.jpg

I love chauffeuring that senior, Yamafitter, to tech days and back. This time the trailer was lighter without his bike 'cuz the key was at home (somewhere in his garage, probably). Last time, I came out ahead with a new pair of sunglasses left in my truck. This time I got a fancy 'spensive iPhone charger..... but I ain't got no stinkin iPhone, so if anybody needs one, it's going for ten bucks or the highest bidder......... unless there's beer to trade, eh!

Dammit!!!!

That was Senior Moment #5 for the weekend. Maybe Pam can send me some string so I don't lose my mittens too.....

mitten_strings.jpg

I'll trade you the miscellaneous screws, fasteners, an nutz I stole from Steve, Alan, and Crumps bikes!
Ya doofus, another reason I like tech days is I get to steal all the extra fasteners...... you better check again.

Fitter, I'll be looking for a Tim Horton's at Waverly Rd. on Sunday morning on my way to Tichborne.... IF I don't get a better offer by then.

It's on the south side just off the ramp Ray

Damnit! I thought I misplaced those fasteners.. Ah well, at least I know where they're at!

Although you tell me she still has them, I haven't seen Dolly's pantaloons (bequeathed by yours truly) in years.

Prove it, Bust

ps - looks like a blast. I wish we had tech days within 500 miles of Freddy Beach
