What kind of guy tells his wife that he will pick her up something for Christmas at the drugstore, on Christmas Eve? I actually believed him. That was disappointing enough, but then he didn't get around to putting the fairing back on my FJR on Saturday.

I've got ONE day off work, and no bike to ride, unless I borrow one of his.

But then when I got home from work Saturday evening, and found this in the living room. Under the paper is a Ninja 650R.

His husband-points score has gone off the top of the scale!!!!

You know he loves you after all that wrapping! So you've been a good girl? ;)

Oh man oh man you are sooooo lucky! :clapping:

Where do I get a husband--er. wife--like that?

I want a sport bike for my second bike so I can lean over more (the FJR scrapes way too soon). Actually, I do have a second bike. It's a Harley Sportster parked in the garage. But it ain't no sport bike, and in fact after getting the FJR and learning what is possible in handling and acceleration and braking, I don't feel safe on the Sporty, even thoug I commuted on it for 3 years and put 47,000 miles on it during that time (much to the amazement of my dealer, who kept trying to move me up to a bigger Harley).

Congrats! Have fun! And keep the shiny parts up.

I've been a very good girl!

While he was in the hospital, then recovering at home after a nasty accident earlier this year, he promised to buy me a track bike to show his appreciation for all the care.

He kept his promise, and then some!

Jill,

My wife totally dug your DH's thoughtful gift. Very cool. Stop by sometime to show it off.

BTW, rode with another female FJR owner the other day in San Deigo. Her2006 and His2006 met me for a ride up Laguna Mountain to see some snow. Judi said she doesn't know you. It's ashame since you only live about 60 miles apart. She has a neat set up for her fjr. Corbin lowered seat and smuggler. No bags. Looks sporty.

Guess who also just got potentially one of the best avatar photo's I've ever seen. B)

The unwrapped visor is a hoot!

Congratulations on your new Ninja, I also like this bike. Now to have you and dear hubby around to get the same Christmas cheer of new bikes next to my tree.

:clapping: :clapping: That is soooo cool, what a guy. Must have taken him hours to wrap. You'll both be having a wonderful Xmas then?
I'm told that the bike took about three hours for father, son and five 'helper kitties' to wrap. He timed me at 11 minutes to unwrap it.

The helmet and boots were selected from the cupboard, since we have a selection that rival a small accessory store.

We had our wonderful Christmas yesterday and today, since DD and I both have to work Monday. It was truly an evening of counting our many Blessings.

Will add Judi, (and yourself + dear lady wife) to the list of people that I look forward to meeting soon.

I'm sure glad I read this before posting. I was about to answer, "You can't! But that would have been chauvanistic and would speak more to those whom I've tried to please reather than the original lady posting. :unknw:

Congratulations Jill. What a year, ending with 2 rewards. DH recovering completely and now the bike. So, what track school are you going to take?

I have a lot of blessings to count right now, with DH's recovery, the bike and the friends who helped us through all this.

Before I sign up for track school, I believe we have to do a little financial 'recovering'. (And then it's his turn for a new bike, so we can go to track school together).

Jill I don't understand?! You posted this on Christmas Eve. It wasn't even Christmas yet. Ergo you could not have opened your gift. How could you have known it was a bike??

Merry Christmas

There is a simple explanation - I had to work on Christmas Day. We planned to celebrate on Sunday evening, after DD finished work. However, DH needed a full day to complete his secret mission so he did it on Saturday while I was at work.

I learned later that he had been planning this for quite some time. Our son got out of bed before mid afternoon each day last week - with instructions to sort the mail before Mom saw it, in case there was anything to give away the secret. I naively thought the boy was turning over a new leaf!
