SF,

You first have to remove the 'W' o the shield - and it's held on by two small (3 or 2.5mm) hex screws under the front edge. I found that if I kneeled in front of the bike, I could see them. And bright light helps.

Once those two screws are removed, you can 'slide' the W up and it will come right off.

This exposes the black plastic screws - I think there's 7 of them. Just gently remove these with a phillips head screwdriver, and you're good to go.

Don't overtighten the plastic screws - they're soft.

Advice - if you have to force something, stop. It's not lined up right.

I wanted the Vstream but could not wait as I'm leaving on my trip 8/19 so I went with the Cee Baileys +3+3.

I had that on my 05 and it was fine.

my 5 minute eval......... looks like I need to to look up the Whistle fix. My original did not whistle but this one does. Other than that I can get clean air at about 1/2 up w/o having to look through the plastic.

whistle fix for me was pretty simple.

I took some black electrical tape and taped across the bracketry on the inside top of the mirror - basically just covering the metal. I still had a minor whistle, so I did the same thing on the front (bottom) of the brackets. Whistle GONE.

using the black tape makes it disappear. not one person who has looked the bike has commented on the tape.

HIJACK!

Anyone know what panels to remove to get to the motor? When the windscreen goes up or down I hear a low pitched rubbing noise. Almost like the sound you'd get if you were washing windows. Not the high squeak, something lower toned, like a trombone.
