Howie won today in the British Superstock class at Oulton Park in Cheshire UK. It is the first win in the UK for MV since 1968. This kid is just 21 and oozes natural talent. Remember his name folks he will be in MotoGP or WSBK before very long. Howie received a call from the MV factory within minutes of the win to congratulate him.

The team and bike are all brand new at the start of the season, so to be winning just 3 meetings in is incredible. Howie has signed a 2 year deal to compete in the UK, with an ''if all goes well'' tag on the end leading to WSBK.

I am proud to say that we helped Howie for a 3 year period before he moved to the MV team. I stood with tears in my eyes today as it was also Howies first win at this level of the sport, and this came on his 21st birthday as well!! He will undoubtedly represent the UK soon.

Edit: Sooner than I expected see the ''works ride at Monza post''

Congrats to him. The MV's are sweet... maybe he and another 21 year-old, Casey Stoner, will be battling on the MotoGP circuit soon. MV is fielding a bike in the AMA Superbike in the U.S.A. as well...

I believe they just announced they are fielding a WSB team next year, "Fast by Ferracci" is going to campaign a couple of F4 1000R 312's in the AMA Superbike this year in preparation.

Edit: Aha, I found the information:

MV Agusta's Racing Program Is Foggy For 2008
MV Agusta announced yesterday that they will race the WSBK series in 2008 with Carl Fogarty's former Petronas squad as their factory-supported team. If they can find a sponsor. So, this makes seemingly on-the-ropes-Ilmor, maybe Team Roberts and now Fogarty all looking for sponsors that will enable them to go or keep racing.

Outwardly the Fogarty tie-up would seem to have more to do with the fact that he has infrastructure in place—from his former Petronas squad—that will solve a multitude of logistical and development problems for MV rather than MV seeking out Foggy because of his "icon" status in racing.

The Foggy news broke in the UK a week ago. I asked Howie if he would be interested in the Foggy ride if it were offered. He said no he is happy where he is and feels that the stability is good in the team. The teams plan is for world domination anyway if all goes well. He also said that it is a done deal already that Hodgeson will ride for foggy. I personally think that being rider #2 to Hodge would do him no harm at all. At the moment he is very much rider #1, his team mate only managed 12th.
