As part of my 2012 NAFO D-Tour we dropped down to the Seattle area to get the AE fixed up (many thanks again to AuburnFJR & Escapefjrist and all the others that offered assistance). I ended up in Rockport, WA that night and the next day had a great ride over Hwy 20 in Washington State. As Bungie has stated this is a must do ride for anyone with a sport touring type motorcycle. Here is just a small part of the fun I had.

I've said it before, if somebody told me I could only ever ride one road for the rest of my days, Hwy 20 would be in my top 5. Not really twisty, but it has its spots, but between the road itself and the scenery. It's really hard to beat.

I lived in that part of the world for almost 30 years and did hwy 20 as many times as I could each year. It is always a good ride even when the wind is bad by Diablo.

Bill... Most excellent... I would say that Hwy 20 through the Cascades compares to riding the coast in California in terms of sheer beauty. The first time I rode it, I had difficulty keeping my eyes on the road. One of my top five! Thanks for taking us with you. Rich

I have lived here all my life, rode it the first year it opened and rode it on the way home from NAFO. I try to ride it each direction once a year, fun on a Triumph Trident, fun on a Hog and more fun on the FJR.

Cool thing about the FJR is that I have rode many more roads in a lot of different states.

No best rode for me, although I sure love riding most of the Washington passes!

Excellent Video!!Very beautifoul place!!

Thanks for sharing!!

A question..?I have seen many pictures and videos from NAFO..

What mean NAFO??Is it a every year meeting?Or is it something other??

Excellent flick. I'm looking forward to doing this road again. Curios as to the software you used for the video.
I used Adobe Premiere Elements 10 for Mac on my 13" MacBook Pro connected to my 22" LG LCD monitor.

I'm still playing with Adobe but I'm seriously thinking about switching to Final Cut Pro X.

Final Cut Pro X allows you to edit each clip and then when you assemble the clips all the edits move with it in a way that that is much more smoother than with Adobe Premiere. Final Cut Pro X is as close to a professional editing suite that you can buy off the shelf as it were. Using it for the type of editing I do with these videos is like swatting a fly with a thermonuclear weapon but I'm as bad a techo-geek as Andy and I love to push buttons to see what they do.

Why do you think I own an AE??

NAFO = North American FJR Owners rally and is held every two years. This one was the third one and was located in Castlegar, British Columbia. In 2010 the event was in Knoxville, TN and in 2008 it was in Colorado.

The 2014 location has not yet been announced though if the pattern repeats it will be somewhere in the Western States.

NAFO was also the CFR (Canadian FJR Rally) for this year and in 2013 the CFR will be in Huntsville, Ontario Canada. Huntsville is on the western edge of Algonquin Provincial Park. One of the things to do other than to ride some awesome roads is the park rangers will take a tour out at dusk into one of the more remote areas on the park to listen to the wolves howl. We won't be able to bring BeemerDons along though because you have to be quiet.
