That was some very amber colored fluid for a 2009 that had supposedly had the fluid changed previously by the dealer.

Your methods are sound using a vacuum pump. Mine are similar, but I extract the excess fluid in the master cylinder using a large veterinary syringe, and refill the reservoir with clean fluid before starting the bleed. I don't hesitate to use a conventional bleeding method of pulling the brake or clutch lever while opening the bleeder under vacuum. It just seems to make things go faster. Something I have not done, and wonder if it is worthwhile, is to cycle the ABS system to move fluid. I suspect it's not necessary.

Your ending advise is right-on :clapping:

Now stand back for a second and enjoy your accomplishment, then quickly go get your helmet and gear and go for a ride!

Yeah, isn't it! I didn't mention what came out of the clutch, and the clutch resvoire fluid was the cleanest looking. I highly suspect the dealer didn't change it last year during the spring service I asked them and was charged for. This was so easy I plan to make it a yearly thing, next time I will cycle the ABS pump.
