Nice weather and a short day today, begged for a ride. I had a nice little relaxing run going on my favorite road of the area just before dusk. I had already gone one way and was on my return trip. I was not running particularly hard, mostly a relaxed pace of about 60 % of what I could do. I tend not to really push when I am by myself as a "just-in-case" so some one might notice I haven't shown up at the end of the road I was on.

Anyway, I was setting up for an inside curve from the ouside lane. I was over towards the grass and about to make my run through the curve when a late 80's Jaguar XKE, black in color with a nice tan interior pops up over the rise 3/4 IN MY LANE!! No squeelin tires, thinking he blew his turn, no brake dive, no warning what so ever! This is a what if scenareo. If I has been running a little harder, already interred my turn, or had been 2 seconds faster, my day would not have ended well. We passed each other with a foot between us. (remember I was on the outside line by the grass) I don't know if the driver was on the phone , blew the curve, or was just an idiot But it gave me a pucker.

I don't really know how you would watch for this, but its out there.

I rest my (click) case, your honor.
The way I read it, Fencer gives a lot of credit to luck saving the day. One of these days, somebody's luck's bound to run out.

Left hander.... .stay right,.......... .right hander..... .stay right......Stay Right, Stay Alive !
Glad you're still among us, Fence!

Glad you're here to post up about the idiocy of others.

I tend to use the whole lane on curves...

This gives some credence to toecutter's opinion about staying right. Maybe more of us will live to post if we stay right. Guess I will think about that one...

Again...glad you survived this idiot. I wish we didn't have to deal with this stuff. How do people drive like that with a clear conscience? :angry2: :assassin:

I'm so glad to hear you made it through unscathed.

As wierd as this may sound...good thing you were on a bike. Would you have made it driving a car? Doesn't sound like that would have worked out all that well. :|

Me an my jag....just playin' with ya fence....keepin' ya on your edge, so, to speak......I was yappin' on the phone with penelope cruz....just so ya knows....

We are out there more than the average rider or driver because we like riding. The law of averages require us to ride super defensively. Good job fencer keeping your ass out of trouble.

...and you didn't turn around, chase the scum down, beat the crap outta him? You're getting soft, Mr. Fencer.. in your younger days he'd be pulp. :p Glad to hear you are fine. Close calls do have a way of defining moments in time, eh?

I don't recommend road rage on a motorcycle v. cage. Follow distantly behind and wait until the cage gets parked, shut off, and the cager becomes a pedestrian. By then you can adequately size up the offender, make sure he's not an NFL player, and you've hopefully cooled down enough to rationally confront. Then headbutt him.

DonaldB would've. (just kidding man).
Leaving the parking lot at work yesterday... prolly about the same time you almost got clocked, some dumb-ass pulled out from a side parking avenue and would've hit me had I not adjusted my speed.

I don't want to end up like Ponyfool :D Although .... there are no curbs on this particular road. Hmmm...

Nah.

I'd just shoot'em instead :assassin:

Dude! No more bama feej's goin' down, okay? Sheesh, I hate those close calls. I had one of those with a Dodge (no pun intended). Super glad it was just a close call. Don't want to visit ya in no stinkin' hospital.
