Well I am now the official owner of an Awesome 06 FJR.

I made the deal a couple of weeks ago and then the snow and ice hit our fair city. The bike was about 80 miles from my home so I had to just sit and wait. Which for me was harder than if it had at least been at my house. Then i could have looked at it daily maybe sit on it a little. But the wait is finally over. I picked up my bike this afternoon and got to put around 200 mile on her before showing her where she will be living for along time.

This forum was great while I was waiting. I read as much as I could. You guys and gals are full of great info. And maybe a few are full of other things but it was never dull reading. I also got a few good laughs along the way. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on here for letting us FNG's hang around.

I thought that maybe i was building myself up too much during the wait. That nothing could be that good. I WAS WRONG. I am still smiling from ear to ear. What a bike this is. Sorry I did not take a bunch of picture today. It is kinda hard while your driving. Well here is what i got. An 06 FJR A With a PC III still in the box ready for install. $ wind sheilds Tall, wide, Std, V Stream which is on it at the moment. A garauld back rest and rack{Which looks great by the way} Bag liner were also like new. And a ball mount. Jerry kept the Zumo though. 22,000 miles like new with no scratches and HJC flip face helmet. And i could not be more happy. I know someone will ask so I paid 6200.00. She rides like a dream. I am ordering the Wynpro Big-Foot tonight. And will be back out early tomorrow on her. I bought her from another Forum member Jerry. Thank you Jerry.

Thanks again,

Mark

Texas,

Welcome & Congratulations! As you mentioned, until you ride this marvelous platform, people think you are exaggerating... now you know in the best way.

You got a stunning looking machine.

Many Happy Miles & Smiles to ya!

you are going to find the backrest to be a real asset - to tie down will now be a comparative piece of cake.

you're already there with happy trails - make it a safe one, too.

I know the feeling of showing the bike the new home. Just got a 05 December 1 and it only had 6477 miles on it. Today we're approaching 10K miles. The scenery and riding has been good and the FJR approves. Of course a Gen I is faster, so sometime this summer, you'll know what I mean. :clapping:

Congrats on the new ride!

Welcome and congrats, the FJR is certainly a great machine! I know all about the snow/ice, being this is western PA, I haven't had my '10 out since eary Dec. Been spending off time buying farkles, I hope we soon get to ride, would like to try them out!

Hey, you Texans didn't treat those Steeler fans so well, what's up?

LOL

Howdy, fellow Texan! We both picked up our 2006 FJRs on the same day!! Congrats, and maybe we'll meet out there on the road someday.

Yeah, Texas is so cramped, you're bound to run into each other! :p

(Sorry, couln't help it. I'll get my coat now and show myslelf to the door . . . .)

Great looking scoot! Ride safe and check in on the looney bin(here) every once in a while. I too have learned so much about this bike from theis forum. I know I have more to learn.

Welcome aboard my friend. Did you know that Gen 1 riders are more popular than Gen 2 guys? That's cause every one of us has got HOT LEGS!!!!!

Ride safe. Beware of rear wheel slip when giving her the gas in the corners.

Be nice to your clutch.

And as soon as the weather allows,

Ride the snot out of it... and stay in touch.

Welcome from Rainy SoCal. I stare at my FJR as I look at this rain and wonder what person ordered this crappy weather. Its funny but we all seem to believe our bike have souls-Me included. I cant wait for some sunny California days and hope for some too to everyone no matter where your bike and you are. DR
