Hey Bustanut, I need a good Blow#$#ob? Odot referred me? LOL!.
AND as for you...Who rattled your twisted little cage? Now you are cross contaminating your Boy George fetishes into totally unrelated threads? You need to admit you have a problem. THAT'S the first step in curing your problem. Oh...and what's this I hear about blow-jobs?
Problem?? Shoot I got no problem. Check out the last line down there........ See? no problems wif me personally

Both of you aught to be ashamed!!!! Giving a guy a rough up 'cause he's doin a pubic service an trying to earn an honest buck

Besides I had to quit that stuff, I got a couple of chipped teeth.

Put a sock in it Carver. and AJ? Go suck a long john......

:****:

:jester:

Damn this seems like a familiar subject. I have been going through the same thoughts...until EOM. Man, did I have a good time.
Here here. I have never, ya, you read that right, NEVER, taken a vacation solo to do something I wanted to do. Family and financial have always kept me from it. So when everything kinda of fell into place for EOM I knew I just had to do it. Honestly, its the best time I've ever had. It didn't matter if it I was blasting some twisties or just sitting in my hotel room with me myself and I, it was GREAT! Funny though, it seems like a lifetime ago now.

I'm planning on being back for EOM 09, and even gonna try to get myself to CFR in BC. So long as things don't change at work I'll be able to afford it, as for the familial obligations. Who knows!

The 22 year old Steve would not recognize 48 year old Steve. But every once in a while 22 year old Steve sticks his minds eye out and says "lets rock this ****!".

One thing I've learned over the years, and that EOM really distilled for me is this, Regret is probably the most self distructive force in the universe.

DC, dig through that arsenal of bikes you have in your garage. Take one of the bikes that you haven't rode for awhile and ride it. Spent yesterday on the Duc. Kind of opened my senses back up [also froze my butt off in the morning]. :derisive:

Actually, I'm not missing them, I'm avoiding them.
and I don't know why. Examples?

Rode to SoCal San Diego, aka San Marcos, CyclePort, to get 'fitted' for some lowers. Can't afford the entire ensemble, nor the lowers really, but had committed to the pants, so off I go.

Rode nothing but established roads like 166 and I5 to the other big highway east on the way there. At least 166 had some sweepers and good visuals, but I've ridden that road soo many times now it is just 'there'.

On the way back home, I passed up some bitchin roads I've never/rarely been on 'just to make it home'. Why? I don't know.

I suck.

I seriously suck. WTF happened to my sense of adventure? Is it gone?

I recall it, with warm sepia memories...

So I made it home 'fast'. Who the **** cares.

Not me, not now.

It would have been so much better to have taken some new roads, to arrive at midnight or later, tired, out of gas, and with memories.

Instead, I arrived.

Simply, just arrived.

Sigh.

I need a good long ride..

a Adventure, if you will.

I really really do.

Does anyone out there get this post?
Head north....................to Alaska - Hyder, Alaska that is.

And don't forget to water Tim's tree. I wanna see a full foot increase in height by next October...........or else! :)

.... to get 'fitted' for some lowers.

Ummmm.... does this involve an operation?

but had committed to the pants, so off I go.

Ummmmm... didn't California voters just nix this in the bud?

I suck.

Ummmmm .... see above!

I seriously suck.

Really! See above.

I recall it, with warm sepia memories...

Okay. Dude, there's other forums that you might want to visit............

I need a good long ride..

Again, ya might find what ya need in Frisco or sumplace.

:p

Took a ride up one side of Raimer MT. and down the other yesterday-maybe 20 real tight ones in two miles. Vowed to not let the speedo drop below 65 and dern near took a ride in the green lane twice. Passed an oncoming Statie too, no problem. I guess I forgot why I got an FJR.. Banished all the warm and fuzzy sepia moments though.

Head north and meet me for breakfast on Saturday. I am sure you can make it to Dixon by 9am.You just need a challenge.

Mike
Great advice. Around Lake Berryessa (sp), through napa valley, further north, touch the PCH for a while....Shut off the GPS, get lost, turn on the GPS and "Route home" :)

I've sometimes caught myself staring at the scenery while the bike happily throttles on. Then I take stock of the situation.. not always good to get lost in the scenery and fail to notice the road curves ahead :)

And I agree, there are times when I just want to rock back the throttle and "just get home". Scenery/road curviness be damned.

Hey Carver,

Next time you make it down here, give us some heads up and we'll plan some fun riding.

Hey Carver! Did you feel better after your ride last weekend? Good Lord! It took you 4 hours just to get from Torrance to Malibu. That must have been some good riding!!! Next time we are riding together longer!

:yahoo:

Point and grunt. Go. I may do that in january when I get laid off from bell helicopter. I hate kalifornia but I may just go west this time out. Get out and play....or do nothing. Just get out.

Well, I for one don't get it. I ride boring roads all the time-commuting hardly qualifies for an episode on Survivor. Well, sometimes. But I consider any day I get to ride a good one, as recent events emphasize, one only gets so many. Yesterday it snowed here, melted quickly, but still, season is almost over here. And yer cryin the blues about your situation? To repeat-any day riding is better than the alternative. I'm sure you know someone, we all do, who would give anything to be able to cruise a road, any road, rather than face what they may be dealing with today. Get up in the morning, thank God you did it without assistance, and go ride and convince yourself how rough it all is. ;)
+1!...no disrespect or lack of sensitivity intended. ;)

Now, for the comparison - YES Mr. Spyder, I had a GREAT ride. 12.5 hours to run 300 miles. Truly a Candy Butt Association pace. Left in daylight, squandered time like I owned it, met some great folks at a mountain top diner, rode home on some of the darkest and loneliest roads, got home waay late and with a smile on my face. Now that's the spirit I normally have, and trust me I'm so happy for that ride. Almost as good as a 2 week ride - some of the roads I'd never been on, I turned the gps off for awhile, only to be 'surprised' when I realized where I was...

Odot - I understand. Just ride where it's warm and only rain. Take good ***** all across America and find some of your best kalifornia 'friends'.. LOL.

None taken.

The key is to know the mindset you leave with will be the mindset you arrive with. If all is not in balance where you are, why expect the mindset at destination to be different?

Ari, you there bud?
