Yep. It's a done deal.

I join the fine ranks of SkooterG, BeemerDon's, Niehart and a host of other Social Security sucking worthless scumbags...

Damn you DC, I was just getting ready to send my congrats...then i read to the bottom!

I can do you one better...I've been *retired* all week, too bad it's coming to the end.

Congrats and welcome to the growing minority. The first year can be strange, kind of like kindergarten.

Been collecting social reimbursement now for the last 8 month and feel absolutely no guilt.

Just read the bottom line of the op, got me again.

Um...SkooterG is NOT retired. He's unemployed. There IS a difference.

Oh...And congratulations on both the retirement and the new job!

Enjoy the brief retirement - and the new job!

When you finally do retire, you are motivated to really live, because you realize that the next job - your last job - could start at any time... The job of feeding worms, or fishes.

Ride, brother!

Yes indeedie, congratulations on the short retirement and new job. And, Skoot is indeed retired, you have to actually look for work, be presentable and available in order to be unemployed.

Congrats.

Point of order: Not all retirees are "sucking SS" moneys.

I'd welcome you aboard but you appear to have gotten askeert too easily.

Congrats Don I'm guessing that you prolly swindled an awesome employment/benfits package for your new job that would include:

All the time off you need each week (with double compensation of course)

All business related travel to be by two wheel's (of your choice) (company puchased)

Any and all real work that needs to be done, done by your personal staff (of your choosing)

See It's not all that bad retirement can wait LOL!

All kidding aside hope whatever you do work's out for you! Happy Healthy New Year! bluejag

What kind of job is that? Make you work the 31st, off the 1st, then back to work on the 2nd? Or do they make you work the 1st?? Not too strict on the ol' QA/QC if they do!
