I traded my FZ1 in on a FJR today.....hard to part with the FZ1, but I couldn't justfy us having 3 bikes.

Wow...I just rode thr FJ 60 some miles, and i'm impressed. I had some reservations about trading my FZ1 in on it, but they are gone now. The answers from people here on the board helped me a lot.

The FJR handles as good as the FZ1 from what I have seen so far, the difference being you can tell it's a little heavier when stopped, or slow in town, or parking lots, once your on the road, it feels the same even in the twisties. My wife, and I just came back from 2 up on it, and it's perfect for that (a reason for the change).

I got what I thought was a great deal on it $12,700 otd That's tax prep, and all of the other b.s

:yahoo: Congratulations! :yahoo:

Did you get a top case for your wife-unit?

Awesome.

I had a difficult time deciding between the FJR and FZ1.

I haven't regretted my choice yet.

Congrats

BUT confused here. How can you not justify 3 bikes in the garage?

Have 3 each with their "special" purpose.

OH, I don't have to justify them to anyone. :yahoo:

jnor,

Wow! You don't waste anytime and know how to make decisions. Congratulations on you new ride. You got a fine deal and a beautiful cycle... have you had your wife on it yet?

Congrats! If you want to keep the price at 12,700 get out of here now. This is the most expensive free forum in the history of mankind, let the farkling begin!

Got the first run of FZ1's in May of 2001. Rode it with a big smile until I saw the FJR. Not coming to America? Awe sh##. But March of 02 the FZ1 site had a posting the FJR coming to America on the PDP. YEA!!!!! Kept them both for a year and found the FJR going out of the garage more often. Sold the FZ and have never looked back. Both are great bikes just different purposes.

Great deal. You got it for $52 less than I got mine for. But in two months I've put another $1500 in it..... and I'm not done yet! Oh yea!!

Now Mike, we know that you're none too fond of wives as a whole, but putting one into the top case??? Or perhaps you meant the top case to be a back rest, making a safe and comfortable feeling for the lady?

Congrats on the new bike. You're going to have a lot of fun with it. Not sure about the justifying multiple bikes though. Andy and I each have three, and there are a couple more lying around in the garage. I guess we're co-dependent.
