Toto El Mundo!
At the SLO airport off Buckley Rd.
Looks expensive, but repairable. Pilot walked away.
Not all of us motorcycle guys have brains! Good for you.I went on a date with a gal at that same airport, in a plane about that size. She was learning to fly, so I kicked in $20 for fuel and up we went. Did a few touch-and-goes, then went to look at the ocean. By the time we got back to SLO airport, a NASTY crosswind was blowing. To land, she had that sucker crabbed so far sideways, we were at almost 45 degrees to the runway when we touched the upwind tire down. She got it slewed mostly straight by the time the second wheel hit, but Oh feces, indeed, 'specially since she told me before we took off that this was only her second or third solo flight.
If I had a brain in my head, that would have been the end of small aircraft for me, but no, I went out and bought an ultralight (Hang glider w/ a go-cart engine) later that same year.
Too bad! That appears to be a rather rare Piper Comanche 400. Factory hot rod powered by an 8-cylinder 0-720.
